Have you ever heard the Declaration of Independence read out loud?

You should. It’s the greatest break-up letter ever written.

At just 33 years old, Thomas Jefferson, with cold moral clarity, told the British government to pound sand:

“Whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends [life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness], it is the Right of the People to alter or to ABOLISH it.”

The power of that line isn’t just what it says. It’s how it’s said.

Jefferson wasn’t writing from a place of outrage. He was transmitting conviction—moral clarity delivered from a steady frame of mind.

It’s said Jefferson revised the Declaration of Independence with the help of Franklin and Adams dozens of times before it was finalized.

And that deliberate, cutting language, paired with emotional steadiness, is precisely why the words still land 250 years later.

Today, we’re blessed to be the inheritors of the great nation those steady hands wrote into existence.

Today you will read many sympathetic media stories about B.P.J., the male athlete who challenged WV’s law and lost at SCOTUS.

I’m guessing none will mention that B.P.J. defeated 470+ girls 1,400+ times (including a state title) and sexually harassed our client Adaleia (pictured) in the girls’ locker room. Sadly, Adaleia stopped playing the school sports she loved due to B.P.J.’s ongoing presence in girls’ sports and spaces.

But we��ll probably be lucky if those girls get even a passing mention—let alone a front-page photo.

This has been the pattern on this issue from far too many institutions of power. Boys’ feelings are the focus. Girls’ safety, fairness, and opportunity take a back seat.


I’m so thankful today that the Supreme Court reversed that pattern, acknowledged the reality of biological sex, and remembered the girls.

I’m thankful for @OttawaImpact and @JoeMoss and aligned commissioners who stopped the Democratic agenda in Ottawa—the first local government in America to abolish DEI—and doing it under the radical Biden administration. West Michigan needs leaders with the courage to act.

Growing up and beginning my career as a social worker in Kent County, it is so sad to see what is happening to Grand Rapids.

Democratic DEI policies destroy cities and communities. Grand Rapids embraced the same DEI NGO membership out of UC Berkeley as Ottawa County did around 2019. Ottawa County’s 2023 Board of Commissioners abolished the resulting DEI Department on Day 1 in office, dramatically shifting the trajectory of our county, but also bringing the wrath of the fake news media on the local and national level. Leadership matter. There is no room for weak-kneed leaders in America anymore, unless Americans truly desire crime and lawlessness.
