@FullMonty_54@RogueMacro_@Lee_in_Iowa My first house at 22 was 888 sq ft. I am also a Realtor & sell to mostly 1st time buyers - they are mostly not unrealistic. A lot of homes in my area are under 1500 sq ft. and in the last 8 years they have quadrupled in price but the income has not matched that rate.
@Lee_in_Iowa Yes but the cost of the home was far far cheaper & your paycheck stretched much further. I think both sides of the argument are wrong. The kids today need a stronger work ethic however the boomers need to understand the affordability problem.
@WickedsGhost I voted for Obama & I dislike his policies immensely. It has nothing to do with his skin color. I also dislike many of Trumps policies too.
@AdrienEmber@ma1ybe Isolationism is not what caused the great depression - it did make the severity worse BUT I am mostly saying stop the foreign aid, other countries do not send us billions of aid every year. And many other countries have tried & failed with socialism/communism yet its on the rise
@AdrienEmber@ma1ybe All Administrations are blood thirsty because their backers make $ off of war. Personally I think we need to go through a period of isolationism & take care of our homeland before any more foreign aid or interventions.
@AdrienEmber@ma1ybe I don't think decreasing defense spending would be good in the current climate. I do think we never should have agreed to send billions overseas to anywhere when at home looks like its falling apart.
@AdrienEmber@ma1ybe I would be worried they would continue to up the $150/month....otherwise it would be something I'd be interested in learning more about.
@AdrienEmber@ma1ybe I'm happy it is good in your state but could you imagine adding the entire US population to a network that is already short on doctors & nurses...it would be very problematic. They need to fix the lack of providers before rolling out universal.
@Discipln_trader@UziCryptoo Your 1st sentence says the "system is fine" - you would have to be ignoring many problems in order to think that the system is fine.
@Discipln_trader@UziCryptoo The system was bad then & it's bad now. We do have a very bad affordability problem & that is causing other problems. Just because it was bad/worse 100 years ago does not mean we just have to ignore the problems of today.
@anahithevixen@ma1ybe And look at the problems they have. People with severe problems in Canada drive into the US to get care due to long wait times. It's not bad to point out a flaw & say lets address this issue before we subject all of our citizens to it.
@emuwee@ma1ybe While I support the people of Iran gaining their freedom I do not support our tax dollars going anywhere but home until our problems are fixed in totality.
@AdrienEmber@ma1ybe I don't disagree & am in the same boat. I am just point out that socialized universal care has several flaws that we need to work out 1st before its put into practice. Look at the VA healthcare system - its a train wreck! I would not want my children depending on a similar system
@jessj1nxtr@ThoughtCrimes80@SyLy97 Yes well being insulting & not willing to change the society that is anti-child is not going to address the problem. Fund better healthcare for mothers & bring the cost of living down. I have a bill for 1 ultrasound & it's over $1400 out of pocket & that's with good insurance.
