Another major project is taking shape in our beloved city💧
The State Govt through the Ministry of Power & Public Utilities is carrying out the CKC Phase 1, Aba Water Scheme. This project will follow the WHO recommended general procedure for municipal drinking-water treatment.
In 1897, the U.S. Army wanted to know if bicycles could replace horses for infantry. So they took 20 Black soldiers of the 25th Infantry – the Buffalo Soldiers – and gave them a mission: ride from Fort Missoula, Montana to St. Louis. 1,900 miles.
The “Iron Riders” carried 60-pound packs, rifles, and one spare tire each. They crossed the Rockies, the Badlands, and the Great Plains on heavy, single-speed bikes with no roads. Private John Findley fixed flats with strips of his own shirt. They drank from cattle tanks and were refused water in Wyoming towns.
It took 41 days. They averaged 52 miles a day. When they rolled into St. Louis, the white newspapers called it a “stunt.” The Army said “impractical” and shut the program down. But the Iron Riders proved it could be done.
Their commanding officer wrote: “No horse could have made it. These men did.”
When Duncan Ferguson got home from Everton’s game at Watford in January 2001, it was around one in the morning and he was still too full of adrenaline to sleep.
His wife Janine had gone upstairs.
Their daughter Evie was six months old and asleep in bed.
Ferguson stayed on the sofa in his tracksuit bottoms, waiting for himself to calm down after the game.
Ferguson had heard a noise somewhere in the house, but had not thought much of it.
When he heard it again, he stood up and saw two shadows moving through the conservatory.
They were trying to leave with some champagne, a picture and a collection of CDs.
Ferguson went straight after them.
One of the men escaped immediately.
The other stayed and tried to fight him.
Ferguson knocked him to the floor and kept hitting him until Janine came downstairs and saw what was happening.
“Stop it, Duncan, stop it!”
“You’re going to kill him!”
Ferguson looked down and realised there was blood everywhere.
Only now, the anger had gone and he thought the man was dead.
He rolled him onto his side, cleared the blood from his mouth and tried to bring him round.
“Are you all right, son?”
There was no response.
Janine stood nearby asking what she should do.
“Will I phone the police or an ambulance?”
“Both.”
The police arrived first.
One of the officers took a look at Ferguson and the man lying on the floor.
“What have you done, Dunc?”
“Jesus, go and clean yourself up.”
The paramedics managed to revive the burglar before taking him to hospital, where he remained for three days.
By the morning, Walter Smith already knew something had happened.
Ferguson phoned him at eight o’clock.
“Boss, I’ve had some trouble.”
“Yes, I know.”
“You’re ringing me early in the morning.”
“Boss, a burglar broke into my place last night.”
Smith only had one question.
“How bad is he?”
The two men were eventually caught and jailed for 15 months.
The judge told the court that Ferguson may have given the impression of being a hard man, but the break-in had left him shaken because his wife and young daughter had been upstairs.
Janine no longer felt safe in the house, so the family moved to Formby.
Two years later, another burglar broke into their new home.
Once again, the champagne was being taken.
This time, the man came at Ferguson with a vodka bottle.
Ferguson ducked and caught him with a right hand.
The burglar went down and Ferguson returned upstairs.
“You’ll never guess what’s just happened.”
Janine knew immediately.
“You have caught somebody again.”
“Yes, and I’ve left him to crawl away.”
Janine told him to go back outside and check because the man might die.
He had only managed to crawl a few feet.
Ferguson called the police and an ambulance again.
The burglar spent two days in hospital with a broken jaw and three missing teeth.
“Everyone has a right to protect their home and their family.”
“Any intruder deserves what they get.”

🇪🇸 This is Spain at EURO 2012. You could not get near them.
And they played 𝗘𝗫𝗔𝗖𝗧𝗟𝗬 the same way in the 2026 World Cup. That's what you call a football identity.

We will broadcast the competition live on Afia TV, and I will also try to secure a live broadcast on Arise News.
It is now the biggest academic competition on the continent.
Remember, participation is completely free and is open to any child who lives in or attends school in the South East.

Consistency.

Peter Obi is Coming...
My brother’s girlfriend lives on the mainland but works on the island. She works remotely and only goes to the office every Friday. As soon as she finishes work on Friday, she heads straight to my brother’s place and stays until Sunday evening before going back.
You need to see her whenever she’s coming here. She arrives fully loaded, like someone coming to visit a king. The moment I hear she’s around, I’m heading there after my Saturday morning football because I already know… e sure for me!
This babe bakes bread for my brother because she doesn't want her eating all them Bokku bread. She even makes ginger shots for him!
Makachi, I don’t need a woman’s money, but God forbid I ever date a struggling girl again in my life!
I'm already struggling, don't bring your own struggles over here!😤
There is no woman on earth that cannot be codedly scoped to do whatever you want.
“Men go for younger women because they are easier to manipulate” 😹😹😹😹
Tiwa is old, rich and mature.
But one “she tell me say” boy from Oju elegba wey call himself weezeee Dey chop am steadily without allowing her to associate with him in public..
So you mean to tell me England had two Pep Guardiola Man City centre-backs, a £300m+ midfield three, a £117m right winger who lives in the pockets, a left winger who’s just signed for Barcelona, and arguably the world’s best striker who drops deep… yet couldn’t control possession against any team that put half a press on, that’s mental.

You guys don't really know how primitive we are. Do you know it's an anomaly for everyone to be building borehole in their houses?
90% of Nigerians don't know what Central water management is. In 2026.
We have a Ministry of Water Resources, btw.
One thing that deeply worries me about Nigeria is this:
Some dreams are almost impossible to achieve if you're born, raised, and educated here.
Want to become an astronaut? There is virtually no pathway.
Want to become a world-class professional footballer? For most talented children, the route is far harder than it should be because the development ecosystem is weak.
And there are many other careers where your biggest obstacle isn't your talent, it's your geography.
This is why some Nigerians have to leave the country, not because they hate Nigeria, but because that's the only way to fully pursue their dreams.
That should concern all of us.
A child's future should be determined by their ability and hard work, not by the accident of where they were born.
Nigeria has no shortage of talent.
What we're missing is a system that allows talent to become greatness.
This man was suspended today by Abia State University.
Investigations so far have revealed that he has been involved in grade sorting and other strange activities. He charges as high as N1.5m to pass MBBS exam.
The Abia State Government has intensified its investigation and is reviewing results and mark sheets for all students in the Uni for the past 5 years.
Some graduates' results may be cancelled after this investigation.
This is the most thorough academic investigation at any Nigerian university so far.
