How are memories formed, retained & lost? Our team tackles this question via electrophysiological, biochemical and behavioural tools. *Student-run*
Based in NUS
In the recent #FENS2024 hosted by @FENSorg, our lab from Singapore presented 2 posters. Enjoyed meeting old friends and making new friends in neuroscience. Always a pleasure to share science.
Our lab's latest review on #synaptictaggingandcapture (STC) is now out in open access: https://t.co/gqELauOJwI
This article is part of the "Long-Term Potentiation: 50 Years On" meeting by the Royal Society. In it, we consolidated STC work on #neuro physiology and pathology.
I will be defending my thesis tomorrow at NUS MD9! Do drop by if you're free!! There will be refreshments!
DM me if you need a Zoom link! It is hybrid. See you there and wish me luck!
Latest edition of Synaptic Tagging and Capture book now out! Get the eBook or hardcopy now! A great effort in the latest book by editors @TedAbelneuro@sajisaaj
Congrats to all the authors for contributing - a testament of STC's relevance in understanding plasticity.
In today's preclinical session for the 7th Singapore International Neuro-Cognitive Symposium, Saji presented on metaplasticity and possibilities to rescue synaptic dysfunctions in Alzheimer's disease. #neuro#7nsc#singapore
Last Friday I presented part of my #PhD thesis work in the Singapore Neuroscience Association Symposium 2023! It was great sharing my work and getting feedback during the talk and offline too. #neuroscience
Last week, we did a journal club of a pub which Saji's first PhD student is the corresponding author of. It is also the first student-as-corresponding moment for him. Congrats to Qin! Looking forward to more exciting papers to have JCs with.
Yet in aged mice, mTOR inhibition rescued aging-induced impairments in LTP. Instead, mTOR activation blocked LTP. These effects were lost in p75NTR knockout mice, which suggest the presence of a molecular pathway between aging, mTOR and p75NTR.
