For those who don't know, a cornual pregnancy is an extremely rare type of ectopic pregnancy where the fertilized egg implants right at the segment where the fallopian tube crosses into the upper uterine horn (cornu). Because it implants in muscular tissue instead of the normal endometrium of the uterine cavity, this is ultimately incompatible with life. Unfortunately, due to the growth of the embryo itself, there is a high risk of uterine rupture and life-threatening hemorrhage, which is what ultimately happened in Lala's case. 3L of blood is more than half of the body's total blood volume, and it is a miracle that Lala survived this ordeal and could even share this story with us.
