This seasonal shift, I’m thinking deeply about what I want to experience before I close my eyes on this side.
Deeper about why.
And broadly about what I believe(d) that has kept me from going for it.
It’s terrifying in some ways but I’m getting glimpses of real freedom.
For @TeenVogue, as part of their Caribbean Heritage Month, I critically examined the importance of Steve McQueen’s ‘Small Axe’.
In doing so, I spoke to the Black British Caribbean experience, Roti Hut, Tamara Lawrence and our audacity as a people.

Dear Black women in tech: please prioritize your health, your rest, and your community. Everyone I know is exhausted. Many are also dealing w/ health issues.
I know we know how to get it all done, but at what cost? Please listen to your body. Immediately.
For people who are close/friends with cousins/siblings: do you think you would still be if you weren’t related? Like, if you just met this person out somewhere, would you vibe?
I still can’t get over people snatching wigs off people’s heads. Like, not in a fight. As theft. Like y’all really stealing hair…..?
…..?
It’s that bad?
Y’all ever leave to go somewhere then while almost there decide to go home? Like, you know it doesn’t make “sense” but it makes a certain sense you don’t question anymore?
