Manipur: Just funny beyond words on the words of Genocider @NBirenSingh. He’s literally saying he and his DGP weren’t capable when he said law & order now under a capable officer”. This stooge shouldn’t be portrayed anywhere if @BJP4India wants to retain power in the state. 🤡
At a time when the majority of Kuki hostages are allegedly being held captive by NSCN-IM proxy CSOs and SDSA, public attention remains focused only on the six Naga hostages. What about the 14 Kuki hostages? Are their lives considered less valuable?
With the demand for the release of the 14 Kuki hostages still unmet, a shutdown has been imposed. In response, the UNC announced a counter-shutdown, resulting in severe hardship for Nepali, Kuki, and Naga communities residing within Kangpokpi district, all of whom are now struggling to access essential supplies.
Today, trucks carrying essential commodities were reportedly blocked by Naga women protesters. At a time when the state remains in a highly volatile situation, such actions only deepen mistrust and fuel further misunderstanding among communities. The question remains: who are the forces encouraging these acts and pushing the state further toward instability?

Mongkot remains under incessant fire from Tangkhul militants. How long will the terrorisation of innocent civilians continue? It is for the Government to decisively uproot these anti-national activities that stand against the Constitution, and the rule of law.
KOHUR condemns the United Naga Council’s 21 May statement for denying and deflecting blame for the 13 May 2026 ambush at Saheibung Peak, Kangpokpi, where 3 Kuki-Zo Christian pastors were killed and 4 others injured.
Key points:
1. Victims: Rev. Dr. Vumthang Sitlhou, Rev. Kaigoulun Lhouvum, and Rev. Paogoulen Sitlhou were unarmed clergy returning from a peace mission.
2. Perpetrators: ZUF’s own 13 May press release named NSCN-IM as attackers using a false “ZUF Kamson” label. UNC ignored this.
3. Hostages: 14 Kuki-Zo civilians are still held by Naga Village Guard per TYF’s 22 May statement. KOHUR demands their release and also seeks return of 6 missing Naga men.
4. UNC’s silence: UNC failed to condemn killings of the 3 pastors, 2 Kuki-Zo men at Mapithel on 11 March, or attacks on Mulam/Songphel villages and Litan Sareikhong arson.
5. Demands: Immediate release of all captives, NIA probe into 13 May ambush, prosecution of perpetrators, end to civilian hostage-taking, and public clarification from UNC.
KOHUR rejects UNC’s deflection, calls the ambush a targeted killing of peacemakers, and demands truth, justice, and release of all civilians.

Kuki-Zo women on Friday staged a peaceful sit-in protest in Manipur’s Kangpokpi district, demanding justice for the three church leaders killed in the May 13 ambush and the immediate release of fourteen Kuki-Zo civilians allegedly being held hostage in Senapati district.
The protest, organised under the Committee on Tribal Unity (CoTU), saw women from different villages across Kangpokpi raising slogans against the killings and calling for accountability amid the continuing ethnic unrest in the state.
Describing the killings as a “barbaric and inhuman act,” the protesters said the slain church leaders were respected figures devoted to peace and humanitarian service.
The demonstrators also demanded the immediate and unconditional release of the fourteen civilians allegedly held captive, calling the situation a serious humanitarian concern.
“We will continue our democratic agitation until justice is delivered and every hostage is safely released,” one protest leader said.
The protest remained peaceful, with participants warning that democratic agitations would intensify if their demands were not addressed.

#WATCH | Imphal, Manipur: Security forces display a large cache of recovered arms and ammunition seized during a series of operations in Lamdeng under Lamsang Police Station.
Two active cadres of UNLF (P), identified as Heishnam Thomas Singh (29) of Mayang Imphal Kokchai and Arambam Tomtom Singh (29) of Lamshang Heibongpokpi Mayai Leikai, were apprehended. Security forces recovered one INSAS LMG, three INSAS LMG magazines, and 14 live rounds from their possession.

Hundreds of protesters under the banner of the Kuki Students Organisation (KSO), Ukhrul District, staged a sit-in protest at Shangkai Village on Wednesday, demanding the immediate release of allegedly abducted Kuki-Zo civilians and implementation of the March 19 MoU.
The protest, supported by the Kuki Women Union and other civil society groups, saw participation from students, village leaders and members of the public amid growing unrest in Manipur’s hill districts.
KSO leaders accused authorities of administrative inaction and alleged that 14 Kuki-Zo civilians, including students, were abducted by SDSA and NSCN (IM).
Addressing the gathering, KSO Ukhrul Vice-President Mercy said the protest was a stand against “injustice, silence, and suffering,” asserting that the Kuki-Zo people were demanding “justice, dignity, security, and rightful existence.”
Protesters warned that continued silence and failure to address their demands could deepen mistrust and unrest in the already volatile region.
