Eid Mubarak.
I have arrived in Kisumu, Kenya, at the invitation of H.E. William Ruto, to join him in launching the Naivasha–Kisumu–Malaba Standard Gauge Railway. This is a strategic project that will reduce the cost of transport, ease the movement of goods, and deepen economic integration within East Africa. I look forward to this engagement.
Today we have a People’s Constitution, which everySouth African citizen of the time had a hand in writing.
This places a particular responsibility on us as a country to uphold the fundamental rights of all people.

Today I signed the newly amended Constitution of the Federal Republic of Somalia, approved by both Houses of the Federal Parliament. This historic step ends the provisional era, strengthens state institutions, protects citizens’ rights, and advances Somalia’s democratic future.
I welcome the extraordinary leadership of President William Ruto on adaptation for Africa. Thank you President Ruto for your continued support for the Global Center on Adaptation @GCAdaptation and its vital mission to accelerate the move to resilient economies across Africa.
As Muslims across the world celebrate Eid-el-Fitr, I congratulate our Muslim brothers and sisters in Nigeria and give thanks to Almighty God for guiding us through the holy month of Ramadan.
Ramadan, alongside the season of Lent, has taught us enduring lessons in patience, tolerance, sacrifice, and neighbourliness. These are not seasonal virtues. They are the foundation upon which we must continue to build our nation.
We have embraced the principles of giving, peace, love for country, and kindness to one another. Now, we must live them. Let us continue to assist the needy, support the vulnerable, and remain our brother’s keeper. Good behaviour, good neighbourliness, and compassion for all must define us beyond this period.
I pray for peace across our country. Stability, peace, and security are not the responsibility of one man alone. It is a collective duty. I urge all Nigerians to remain vigilant and to report suspicious movements within their communities. Our safety depends on our shared commitment.
Let us carry forward the spirit of Ramadan in our actions, our words, and our service to one another.
May God accept our sacrifices.
Eid Mubarak.

In this week’s #PoliticsNation “Gotcha” segment, I addressed President Trump mocking Governor Gavin Newsom for having dyslexia. Learning differences have nothing to do with intelligence or effective leadership. Some of our greatest leaders faced challenges and still moved this nation forward. Choosing to ridicule in a moment like this says more about his leadership than anything else.
CNN Global Affairs Analyst Karim Sadjadpour believes the nature of the war in Iran has changed for the U.S. "I think this began as a war of choice for President Trump and it's morphed into a war of necessity," he says.

Fashola: Newly appointed ambassadors must understand Nigeria’s policies to attract investment
Babatunde Fashola, former governor of Lagos and ex-minister of power, works and housing, says newly appointed Nigerian ambassadors must possess deep knowledge of the country’s policies to effectively attract foreign investment.
Fashola spoke in Abuja on Tuesday while delivering the keynote address at the Nigeria reputation summit 2026 organised by the Nigeria reputation management group, an initiative of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR).
The summit was themed ‘Better Nigeria, better reputation’.
Fashola recounted an official visit to an African country during his time as a minister, where Nigeria’s ambassador lacked knowledge of the country’s policy position in the sector under discussion.
