I had the chance to talk to @MerlijnBuit here (https://t.co/vSPw8oWYY3) about Supertables by @appsfortableau , previously a dashboard extension and now a native chart in Tableau. It brings beautiful tables to Tableau with the modern abilities you get in a range of spreadsheet tools today, alongside the ability to write back and even have AI help with your analysis. We also spent some time talking about Merlijn's journey with @tableau and the opportunities ahead with the platform opening up.

Accessibility is a topic that I'm sure we all come across. Still, recently I dug into it a little more and found that as my understanding of the area developed, I realised that my perspective on it had been narrow, and I needed to go on a journey to evolve it a little more. Multi-fact analysis will be one of those features that changes the scope, capability and breadth of questions you can now answer using a single data source in Tableau. I even had to clear my throat before this monologue; that's how serious I think this feature is 🤣

It’s allows you to save in the twb twbx format. It’s not going to get around the restriction of workbooks connected to databases or workbooks using data sources connected to server or cloud. That’s not changing. It’s free to try and test the boundaries. I’ve got the word out over to you to test if it can help you.

Tableau Desktop but free - ish. (https://t.co/khMeIyPpYa ) Yep Tableau Public Desktop Edition is live now in 24.1.2 and it lets you save locally on your laptop no restrictions on how or where... No I need to spell this out, you can :

1) Work offline.
2) Use public or private data.
3) You can use it to try out Tableau at work with any local file types (excel, csv, spatial, statistical) export you got sent.
4) You get autosave so no lost work.
5) No more publishing 100 times before sharing to the world.
6) All the power of Tableau desktop with only restrictions being on cloud / server and database connections.
7) We finally have something to shut down that PowerBi Desktop Edition discussion 😎
