“Learn this now and learn it well. Like a compass facing north,a man’s accusing finger always finds a woman. Always.”
Khaled Hosseini, A Thousand Splendid Suns
If we are bombarded with messages that up is down, round is flat, white is black, men are women, sex is irrelevant, gender is everything, truth is lies- is the end game that we no longer trust our own judgement and then will literally believe whatever we are told to believe?
@roisinmurphy@Mattburns82 Did you lot take lessons in logical reasoning from Witchfinder General, Billy Bragg? Guilt by association is a fallacy, and fails to engage with the actual issues.
@jo_bartosch In my work I am expected to put reasonable adjustments in place for peri/menopausal women without them telling me they need them. So I expected to guess, based on how old they look.
@GreenLManston By reporting truthfully I assume you mean not calling males 'she' or describing them as women when the media are reporting on crimes against women committed by men who identify as women.
Eye color, hair color, skin color, height, all that is a spectrum. Sex characteristics are on a spectrum, penis or breast size, amount of body hair, shoulder width, hand and foot size, voice, disorders — all a spectrum.
Sex itself is binary. The fact that every single human being on the planet only exists because of a male and female parent, two types of gonads, and two types of gametes should clue you in as to why sex is binary. But here you are.
@jan_murray I think it's the assessment part of that letter that would annoy me most. After being through cancer treatment you've had enough assessment. You just want to get on with life. Some people might value what they are offering but I'd be with you on this one.
@jan_murray I totally get where you are coming from. When I had cancer treatment, maintaining 'normal life' was very important to me. I had as little time off work as I could, not because I had to but because it was part of me n holding on to who I was.
