Time's up for the billionaires!⏱️🆙
I'm Joe Tache — youth worker, community organizer, and socialist. I'm running for U.S. Senate in Massachusetts. We have the means to meet the needs of the people and planet, we just need the power! Join our movement: https://t.co/s982zNlnhi.
Congress just voted to give 70 billion of our taxpayer dollars to the murderers at ICE and CBP.
It’s no coincidence that at the same time, millions of us are seeing our SNAP benefits cut or are being forced to drop our healthcare coverage due to skyrocketing costs.
Trump’s agenda involves terrorizing our immigrant communities and depriving everyone of our basic necessities while he and his billionaire friends get trillions of dollars in tax cuts.
My socialist Senate campaign is fighting for the exact opposite — for abolishing ICE, guaranteeing amnesty and a path to citizenship for all immigrants, and using our resources to guarantee a dignified life for us all.
@sethmoulton and @JohnEDeaton1, you say you want to lead by example and show the people of Massachusetts their options. My socialist Senate campaign was the first in this race to gain ballot access, something that we achieved with a 100% volunteer effort. We’re the only campaign guaranteed to be on the ballot this November.
I reached out to both of your offices over a week ago requesting to join you on stage for the cross-party debate on June 16. I’m curious why I haven’t received a response.
.@JohnDeaton, I am happy to agree and have a debate with you on one condition - that we do it whether or not @edmarkey agrees to join us.
I’m looking forward to debating our different visions for the future of our country. The people deserve to hear from us.
Happy Pride!
Now more than ever, it is crucial for us to fight back against Trump and the right wing’s targeting of the LGBTQ community — especially of our trans siblings.
I’m running for U.S. Senate on a platform that calls for free and quality healthcare for all, which includes gender-affirming care. It names housing as a human right at a time that a third of all trans people are estimated to experience homelessness in their lifetime.
Billionaires are to blame for society’s problems, not trans people. This month and every month, we stand against hate and division and for our collective liberation.
The Department of Justice has announced an indictment of Raul Castro. It couldn’t be more obvious that Trump and Rubio are searching for an excuse to launch an unprovoked war against Cuba.
It’s not enough that they’ve intensified the decades-old illegal blockade against the island nation, leading to a total fuel shortage, consistent blackouts, and massive suffering.
In the eyes of the U.S. government, any country that tries to exert its sovereignty must be brought to its knees, and those of us inside the U.S. are sold lies about why. But they can’t fool us — we stand with the people of Cuba.
Nearly 150,000 children have been separated from their parents by the Trump Administration’s mass deportation policies.
HUNDREDS OF BILLIONS of our tax dollars are spent terrorizing children and families who are just trying to get by, like we all are. Many come here to escape instability and poverty brought to their countries by the U.S. government’s militarism and meddling — then that same government turns around and persecutes them once they’re here.
My campaign is rooted in a socialist movement fighting for a world where EVERY child is not only free from ICE terror, but has healthy food to eat, a comfortable home with their family, and a well-funded school. It’s not complicated.
It's Nakba Day, when we commemorate the victims and survivors of the massacres committed by settlers in 1948 to displace the Palestinian people from their land and to create the state of Israel.
It's a reminder that the state of Israel has always been based on racism, colonialism and genocide. We've seen that genocide escalate to new heights since 2023 with the support of both Democrats and Republicans.
Free Palestine, free all Palestinian political prisoners, and end all U.S. aid to Israel! 🇵🇸
Surprising no one, a report came out saying the majority of people in Massachusetts are anxious about affording even basic expenses.
In nearly every demographic group, respondents stated that their quality of life has worsened compared to five years ago. The vast majority of people do not feel that they are better off than their parents. The most common financial stressors are housing, healthcare, and education.
How is this possible, in the most “progressive” state in the richest country in the world?
It’s because under capitalism, our economy is structured to pad the pockets of the rich. It’s past time that we usher in a new system in which our needs are the priority — socialism.
Donald Trump is an equal opportunity misogynist.
He is using Title IX to investigate Smith College, a women’s college in my state of Massachusetts, for admitting trans women.
Title IX is a civil rights law that was a hard-fought victory of the women’s liberation movement. It is no surprise that Trump would pervert this win, claiming to stand for women at the same time that he oversees attacks on abortion access and aims to disenfranchise millions of women with the SAVE Act.
We won’t fall for Trump’s hypocrisy. The liberation of women, trans people, and all working people go hand in hand.
In the Trump administration’s latest move to limit trans rights, the Department of Education has launched a Title IX investigation into Smith College, an all-women’s college in western Massachusetts, for admitting trans women. https://t.co/NnUfSPVKB0
Our campaign, the only one not backed by billionaire interests, was also the first to get enough signatures from MA voters for ballot access (a 100% volunteer effort, no paid canvassers).
There should be a debate among all the candidates so the people of our state can see that they have options beyond the two-party system.
.@JohnDeaton, I am happy to agree and have a debate with you on one condition - that we do it whether or not @edmarkey agrees to join us.
I’m looking forward to debating our different visions for the future of our country. The people deserve to hear from us.
Yesterday, Trump:
Signed an executive order intensifying the illegal blockade on Cuba.
Hinted at moving the largest aircraft carrier in the world from Iran to Cuba.
Openly threatened to take over the island nation.
Trump’s might-makes-right approach has fallen flat in the eyes of people inside and outside the U.S. I, along with the majority of people in the world, stand with the people of Cuba!
The right wing is attacking abortion access once again.
Yesterday, the group of unelected judges that make up the 5th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals halted the delivery of mifepristone, one of two pills used in medication abortion — the most common type of abortion in the US.
This decision is another attempt by the ruling elite to deny abortion-seekers the right to control their own bodies, and to take away the gains of the women’s liberation movement which won the right to abortion in the 1970s.
Abortion is healthcare, and healthcare is a human right. Abortion free and on demand now!
Today, the Supreme Court (a body of unelected millionaires) ruled to disenfranchise Black voters.
This is yet another example of the Supreme Court being a tool of the elite used to attack the rights of working people. They struck down abortion rights in 2022, affirmative action in 2023, and gutted a crucial provision of the Voting Rights Act in 2013 through the "Shelby County v. Holder" decision.
While today's decision is a bold move by the right wing, it is ultimately an act of desperation. They know their program is deeply unpopular. Our movement is rising up against Trump's racist billionaire agenda: we drove ICE back in Minneapolis with historic general strikes, held the largest single day of protest in American history on March 28, and are gearing up for nationwide actions on May Day.
The right wing is on the back foot. They know their only way to remain in power is to roll back the democratic rights won by the Civil Rights Movement – the Second Reconstruction. It is up to us to stop them by fighting towards a Third Reconstruction: a Socialist Reconstruction. See you in the streets this Friday.
Gas prices have reached their highest level in four years, thanks to Trump’s illegal and devastating war on Iran.
In Massachusetts, we are paying nearly 40% more at the pump today than we did a year ago. According to the University of Michigan’s consumer-sentiment index, our confidence in the U.S. economy is at its lowest point in 50 years.
But Trump and his billionaire friends are having a very different experience. Yesterday, the S&P 500 and Nasdaq closed at record highs. It was a great day for the top 1%, who own HALF of individually traded stocks and mutual funds. They are happy to continue killing people across the Middle East and watch as more and more people living in the richest country on earth struggle to make ends meet, as long as they can get richer.
The irrationality of the capitalist system is on full display. The stock market, which is the metric of the billionaires, goes through the roof at the exact moment that working people are struggling the most. It has never been more urgent to fight for a new system — a socialist system.
Breaking News: Gas prices in the U.S. have hit their highest level in four years. Tuesday's jump was the biggest increase in more than a month, as negotiators deadlocked over reopening the Strait of Hormuz. https://t.co/FGkoT1kE3J
Yesterday, Meta and Microsoft announced mass layoffs. In total, they are kicking 17,000 of their workers to the curb. This is only the beginning of the crisis A.I. will create if we allow billionaires to stay in the driver's seat.
The companies claim the layoffs are because they "need” to invest in A.I. infrastructure. But they aren’t really investing in infrastructure — in their short-sighted race to compete over A.I., these corporations are gambling with the entire economy.
I remember the financial crash of 2008, another result of billionaires’ gambles. Millions of people lost their jobs, their homes, and their savings.
Capitalists like Mark Zuckerberg are setting us up for a similar crisis today. But they don’t care about the employees they’re laying off, the students graduating into the worst job market in years, or those of us who will suffer from the next economic crash. They only care about their profits.
Under capitalism, billionaires decide how A.I. is developed. It doesn’t have to be this way. Instead of causing chaos, new technologies can and should be used to improve people's lives. To make that a reality, we need to build an entirely new system — socialism.
Breaking News: Meta plans to cut 10% of its work force, roughly 8,000 employees, and close another 6,000 open roles. The cuts come as the company — which owns Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp — spends heavily on developing A.I. https://t.co/Bhqz25W1Cd
War Criminal in Chief Donald Trump stated today that “a whole civilization will die tonight”— openly threatening genocide against the Iranian people.
Yesterday and today, before Trump’s 8 PM “deadline” to open the Strait of Hormuz, the U.S. and Israel have drastically increased their bombardment of civilian infrastructure in Iran. With every bomb the Trump Administration drops, they commit a new war crime.
This is a continuation of the U.S. government’s genocidal drive to dominate the entire region, raining death and destruction from Gaza to Lebanon to Iran.
The people of the U.S. vehemently oppose this war! A strong anti-war movement in the millions of people can be a decisive factor in ending it. Tomorrow is a national day of action with protests taking place across the country — I’ll see you in the streets.
The Pentagon is asking for $200 billion MORE of our taxpayer dollars to fund their illegal war on Iran. That is enough money to fund free school lunch for every K-12 student in the U.S — for multiple years.
When asked about this wasteful spending, Pete Hegseth said, “Obviously, it takes money to kill bad guys.”
Hegseth is talking like he’s playing a video game. Enough with the callousness and dehumanization. This war is killing schoolchildren, civilians, and U.S. service members.
I’m running for U.S. Senate on a platform to end this capitalist system that is addicted to war. We have the means to fund the people’s needs, not the war machine — we just need the political power.
Breaking News: The Pentagon asked the White House for $200 billion to fund the war in Iran, according to two officials with knowledge of the matter. The sum is nearly a quarter of the entire U.S. annual defense budget. https://t.co/y4eWSOe5gN
It's confirmed: the United States military fired the missile that killed 175 people — mostly little girls — inside of an elementary school school in Iran on February 28.
This act of mass murder exposes everything we need to know about Trump's war. Our government is spending billions of taxpayer dollars every DAY of this war to kill children in Iran rather than using that money to ensure that our children here can live healthy lives, attend well-funded schools, and look forward to bright futures.
We need to keep building a mass anti-war movement for the sake of all children.
Breaking News: The U.S. was responsible for a missile strike on an Iranian school, an ongoing military investigation found. The inquiry said the strike — which Iranian officials said killed at least 175 people — was the result of a targeting mistake. https://t.co/88FIdIJOQi
In Massachusetts, the price of gas has gone up by 13% in one week because of Trump's illegal and unprovoked war against Iran.
Our state already has one of the highest costs of living in the country, and the majority of residents reported living paycheck to paycheck BEFORE Trump’s war.
It couldn’t be clearer that this murderous war, funded with our tax dollars, harms the people of Iran AND the people of the US.
Stop the war on Iran! Money for people’s needs, not the war machine!
Trump is out here openly condemning a whole country to death.
This is shocking, not because Trump is the first president to attempt to strangle the Cuban economy or to wage an endless war, but because there is so little attempt at a cover-up. Their goal to have complete control of the entire globe is on full display.
Just this week, we have seen Trump and others in his administration bragging about murdering people in Iran, Cuba, and Venezuela.
Trump is becoming more emboldened by the day. Building a movement in the millions is the only way to stop him in his tracks. It’s moments like this that show what’s at stake: will we have a world based on global solidarity and cooperation, or domination?
Trump: "Cuba is in its last moments of life ... but our focus right now is on Iran. Marco will take one hour off and finish up a deal on Cuba. That'll be an easy one."
ICE has killed another one of our neighbors.
Emmanuel Clifford Damas, a Haitian community member and asylum-seeker in Boston, was kidnapped by ICE in September.
The conditions in the detention center were so horrific that Emmanuel’s tooth became infected and he was refused treatment until he developed sepsis. He passed away on Monday. Our brother is dead because ICE denied him a simple course of antibiotics.
Emmanuel was a victim of the racist attacks on the Haitian community being waged by the Trump Administration. He was a victim of a capitalist system that seeks to divide and terrorize us in order to exploit us.
Justice for Emmanuel. Abolish ICE. Amnesty for all immigrants.
