@cybrtrkguy Right there with ya man. So many people pander saying you don’t need more range. When you use a truck as a truck and not just a large SUV range is critical. 400mi highway range is about perfect.
A significant portion of northwest South Dakota/SouthEast ND is inaccessible by cybertruck/EV's as well. For example: If I wanted to drive to Faith from Rapid City round trip I could not make it on a full charge without doing like 45mi/hr. Range extender or bigger battery was a must for me.
@Tryangle@shygar mine started doing that about a month ago and they're replacing the PCS2 next month. Was around 42k miles on my early FS truck. Last service under warranty whew
@OGMarsLife@cybrtrkguy oh ya know, just a few rednecks that make the most secure fastest deploying vehicle firearm storage solution on the market... https://t.co/RUYZYuiUFL
@cybrtrkguy The struggle is real man. Crossed the state the other day and the murdo charger was down. Barely made it to Wall. The infrastructure in SD is atrocious
For the specific scenario he presented you must assume both cars (EV & ICE) start at home with the same capacity of energy. Let’s say 80% full tank and 80% full battery. Shats math checks. Now if you go in aggregate over a longer period of time with daily driving and not a specific trip, you’re correct. Both arguments hold up.
By far the biggest complaint of owning my cybertruck is range. We were promised 500mi in the original specs we reserved under, then were told we could pre order a range extender to get 500mi, then that was taken away from us. That being said, Cybertruck is still the best vehicle OTM.
@B_doong2daddy Range is also my #1... Didn't like the design of the range extender, but for those of us in rural areas without much access to supercharging (or in my case terrible 120KW nearby) this almost made me cancel my reservation. Ideally a battery pack swap to a higher kWh would be ideal
@BeardedTesla Mine is going out as we speak. I use a wall connector and at first everything was fine charging at full 48A. Now I'm lucky to get 24A. Service scheduled for next month due to how far I am away from the nearest service center... Hoping my truck makes it that long
