Watched the Vardy doc on Netflix last night. I've grown to really like Vardy the player over the years.

His story is incredible. But the way he's played the game is to be admired.

There's part of the documentary that highlights the Daily Mail for being the gang of scumbags we all know them to be.

Leicester are going for the title. Vardy has just broken RVN's record of consecutive games with a goal.

And the Mail decide to release a story about the fact that the man Vardy thought was his dad wasn't actually his biological dad.

They've "found" his biological dad. They've paid for him to go to Leicester vs Swansea to "see his son play for the first time" and decided to publish a big story on this man who'd walked out on Vardy and his mum when he was an infant.

This wasn't a story anybody needed to know. And the fella who's his biological father never even reached out to him, just took the bag of money the Mail were happy to give him.

They put a stain on the greatest time of his professional career and they destroyed his family dynamic.

Ten years later, he doesn't speak to his mum or the man he now knows is his stepdad because they all had a big falling out over the revelation.

All so they get sell a few papers.

I have witnessed this club go from doubters to believers, and from believers to champions. It took hard work and I always did everything I could to help the club get there. Nothing makes me prouder than that.

Us crumbling to yet another defeat this season was very painful and not what our fans deserve. I want to see Liverpool go back to being the heavy metal attacking team that opponents fear and back to being a team that wins trophies. That is the football I know how to play and that is the identity that needs to be recovered and kept for good. It cannot be negotiable and everyone that joins this club should adapt to it.

Winning some games here and there is not what Liverpool should be about. All teams win games.

Liverpool will always be a club that means a great deal to me and to my family. I want to see it succeed for long after I have moved on.

As I’ve always said, qualifying to next season’s Champions League is the bare minimum and I will do everything I can to make that happen.
