I want to clear up the situation regarding Levigh’s Moon 253 run, because a lot of misinformation is being spread and people are calling him a cheater when that is not what happened.
First of all: the run is not being defended as valid. The reason for that became clear after we discovered what actually happened.
In BO1 Zombies, maps normally use files like:
zombie_MAPNAME.ff
and
zombie_MAPNAME_patch.ff
Using Moon as an example, there are 2 files:
zombie_moon.ff
and
zombie_moon_patch.ff
In Levigh’s case, he played with the original / legitimate files, however the file "zombie_moon_patch.ff " was incorrectly named as "zombie_moon_.ff ". Because of this, Black Ops 1 ignored this file entirely.
The important part is that the game still launched and functioned normally. There were no crashes, no obvious errors, nothing that would immediately tell someone “your files are incorrect” or something like that. So naturally, Levigh believed everything was fine and legitimate.
The unintended side effect was that his game ended up having 2 less entities than a standard Moon game. Which means that, instead of reaching a reset of around 76h35, Levigh was going to get a reset of around 77h07.
However, even without those extra ~30 minutes, he still would have reached round 252 and tied the current record with Furret.
Once this was discovered, me and other Moon players, including Levigh, discussed the situation in a Discord chat and we all agreed that the run should not count for the leaderboard. Because allowing runs played with deleted / missing patch files would create a big problem for future BO1 runs.
This was NOT something intentionally set up to gain an advantage. Even Levigh himself said that the run should not count. The only thing being asked is that people stop falsely calling him a cheater.
There is a huge difference between:
• intentionally modifying/deleting files to gain an unfair advantage
and
• unknowingly playing with a file naming mistake that still allowed the game to run normally
The run being invalid is understandable. But saying Levigh maliciously cheated or faked the run is simply false.
Anyone who has seriously played BO1 high rounds knows how difficult Moon 252+ is.
I decided to make this post because I’ve been seeing some genuinely unfair accusations being thrown at him, and I felt like people deserved to hear the full context of what actually happened.
Levigh is also a big friend of mine, and he doesn’t really use social media outside of Discord, Twitch, and YouTube, so I wanted to speak up and help explain the situation properly instead of letting misinformation spread unchecked.
Please stop spreading misinformation and at least understand the full context before accusing someone of cheating.
Also, yes I bought twitter blue just for this, I didn't want to make 1000 tweets lol
Five Round 244 World Record Reset.
Tbh I can’t say I’m too happy with this one knowing this would have been 246 if I just had a 4 when I needed it the most. Nonetheless I finally played a game to reset with 3.0 playing nearly 2hrs faster than Ume until I got fucked by RNG 🫠
Is this the console equivalent of a box error? The game didnt totally freeze, it kicked me to the main menu but i didnt get to see an error message because the game reconnected me to xbox live so i just got "sign in status changed".
This was at about 4800 box hits.
