@tugcity@IainDale We had a mumps outbreak amongst vaccinated children at our local secondary school. Vaccines donโt work on everyone but the high take up ensures those they donโt work for or canโt be vaccinated have protection. If you donโt want the Covid vaccine donโt have it, I really donโt care
@tugcity@IainDale Then you should look at the immunisation schedule and click on the combined vaccines as they will include polio eg. 6 in1, 4 in 1, 3 in 1. Polio is included in all of then hence itโs given 5 times.

@BritInBulgaria @IainDale@44ge1966@Stevebates5 Two doses of MMR vaccine are 88% (range 32% to 95%) effective at preventing mumps. Mumps outbreaks can still occur in highly vaccinated communities, we had an outbreak of vaccinated children at our local secondary school a few years ago.
@BritInBulgaria @IainDale@44ge1966@Stevebates5 Sometimes travellers have been advised to have polio boosters before travelling. The BCG vaccine, not routinely given in the country anymore is 50% - 80% efficacy and the flu vaccine can be as low as 40%. Covid vaccines work well and are all we have, Iโm very grateful for them.
@DPJHodges Itโs not pessimism itโs just being cautious until we see (have the data ) as to what is happening. Then in the full knowledge things are easing or we know how we are managing the situation actually works, we can move forward.
