Folks, this is one of those posts you really hope to never need to make, but baseball twitter has become a sort of family for many of us and I have to share this with you:
If you have ever used the NEPTA Dashboard or played the baseball trivia game Daily Walkoff, Eric Parker has been a part of your life and the culture we've built in our little corner of baseball twitter whether you realized it or not. (He's the software coding brains behind the NEPTA Dashboard visualizer and Daily Walkoff.) He's also an amazing person; kind, smart, generous, and passionate about baseball.
Eric recently and unexpectedly lost his wife Ashley during the birth of their third child. It's an unimaginable tragedy. As a new father myself, I know that a newborn is a handful, and I can't even begin to imagine raising a newborn and two more little boys by myself. I can't imagine having to plan my spouse's memorial service on top of that while also helping them navigate the kind of grief you'd never wish on anyone.
Eric and his kids need our help. Baby Wyatt will be in the NICU for a while, and we need to make sure that Eric is able to focus on his family right now. Not medical bills, not going to work. He needs his village.
If you are able to share the link below, I would be grateful.
