I have now listened to the whole @winkydonline album. Next week I will review one track per day.

In my humble opinion, Tete-A-Tete is the most consequential album ever recorded in Zimbabwe in the new millennium. I cannot think of any other album from this era with such deep social commentary, the kind that makes you laugh, reflect and, at times, cry. I did cry as I listened to some of the tracks.

He touched the raw nerve of our struggles, and he did it with remarkable depth. This is music for thinkers, music for those who seek substance.

I want to tell him that he has earned his colours. What this record needs now is international promotion. To his fans, spread the message far and wide.

He did the work, now spread the word. I want to end by saying this is not Zim dancehall. This is authentic reggae.

I hope and pray that Reggae Land gives him a slot. He deserves it.

Well done, Winky, you have made every ghetto yute proud, you have made every patriot proud. You are indeed one of the best of your generation in Africa. Please @DavidRodigan , listen to this album from Zimbabwe, you will thank me.

Last night I said that I usually read on long haul flights. Listening to this album was more than reading, it nourished the mind.

On a long flight, I usually read. Today, I am listening to Winky D's new album, and I am loving it. The messages are rich and deep, touching on Africa's need for honest leadership rather than hollow rhetoric, and on a hunger for truth over propaganda.

One track in particular stands out, called 2 Laws. It speaks powerfully to the divide between the wealthy and the poor, capturing the kind of social commentary that makes this album so compelling.

Bomboclaat, this yute maaddd you know! He is now beyond comparison among his peers.
