Attention Young Men:
I am surrounded by 20 year old girls in my life that are smart, capable, hard working and cute. Nobody is dating them. Not sure what the deal is, but I don’t get it.
Step 1: Stop playing video games
Step 2: Head to great clips and get that lettuce cleaned up
Step 3: Hit a shower (when dating hygiene is critical)
Step 4: Go clean your car
Step 5: Sign up for a yoga class
Step 6: Go to the yoga class
Step 7: Ask a cute for her phone number at yoga class (yes you can meet girls IRL and not just on the apps - 10/10 the Dirt Dog highly recommends)
Step 8: Follow up within 2 days with a phone call and ask them out for this coming weekend Friday or Saturday night.
Step 9: IMPORTANT - come up with a good game plane for date night. Get a dinner reservation, get an activity planned. Let them know in advance what you are doing so they can dress appropriately. I know you are gunna roll off the couch and head to date night, but they are not. They are going to stress about what to wear and call at least 6 different people on FaceTime to ask their opinion.
Step 10: I highly recommend you bring flowers to the door step. I’m not covering that you go to the doorstep, because if you don’t do that you have no hope here. Women want men to date them. You don’t need to break the bank on flowers. Head to Trader Joe’s. Grab 2 different kinds of flowers. If you don’t know what matches find the closest looking lady to your mom at TJ’s and ask her. Wrap the 2 flowers into 1 bouquet with paper. Bonus Points you can cut open a TJ bag and use that as the paper.
Step 11: Be a gentleman on the date. She isn’t there to hear your life story. Ask her about her. For every 1 question you answer, ask her 3. Open Doors, pay for the meal, be polite.
Provided you follow most of this guideline you are highly likely to get yourself an opportunity for date number 2.
Keep going until you find someone that you can’t imagine not being around all the time. That’s when you have found a good one for you.
My life is complete with my wife as my companion. I wish you the same fortune in life. Happy Hunting.
“Too big to fail. Active trading isn’t needed anymore. In fact it’s more of a waste of time.”
Those were the words I heard as I was speaking with a finance person yesterday who is way smarter than I & who manages more money than I can fathom (institutional) & he made this blunt remark.
“The stock market is now too big to fail. It would impact national security. We now have a 78 trillion dollar ice skating rink where one major crack could decimate the financial system. This ain’t 2000 or 2008, those events can’t occur again with this kind of market cap especially with 0DTE options.”
He noted the massive OPEX options expirations that alone could send the financial system into disarray if they went awry. “We now have $4 trillion at OPEX expiring & folks think it’s normal. It’s not.”
In short, all this time spent on technical analysis is now, for the most part, useless.
In his words, “No crashes, no bear markets at the S&P or NDX index level will likely ever occur for years on out & possibly not again. The most you’ll get is very shallow retracements. It’s now just too big to fail. Even a 3Q 2015 style pullback or 4Q 2018 style pullback would be disastrous if it occurred today.”
Laugh if you will but look at the data. He’s right. VIX is so suppressed it can’t even break 18 in October of a midterm election year. When was the last time that happened?
As he put it, “All these folks on X predicting price action every single day would save a boatload of time just buying QQQ & SPY & going fishing. It’s only going to be higher YoY for years out. You’d be lucky getting a 4% pullback to get lower prices before the dip is bought. Day trading is a complete waste of time.”
i asked an outstanding trader launching his own fund (on the pod soon) whether reading fiction has any utility for investing.
his answer: "fiction trains imagination. and imagination is what lets you see tsla in 2013."

Every country has an energy. And that energy rewires you whether you notice it or not. People move to Japan and become minimal. People move to Mexico and their entire relationship with time softens. People move to New York and suddenly they can't sit still. Your personality is far more malleable than you think. We treat it like something fixed, but new surroundings give you new defaults. New pace. New habits. New values absorbed through proximity instead of effort. You're not just the average of the 5 people closest to you. You're the average of the 5 places, the 5 routines, and the 5 inputs you're exposed to most. Your commute shapes you. The weather shapes you. Every space you occupy is voting on who you become. That's why I believe choosing where you live is one of the most important decisions you'll ever make. More important than your job title. Maybe more important than your five-year plan. Because the place shapes the plan. The place shapes your energy, your habits, your relationships, your default state. Get the place right and half of the other decisions start making themselves. Get it wrong and you'll fight yourself every day.
@FadiZeidan@DiegoBTrades That is great. I am having the same issue. I wish I could be kept on the loop on how your conversation with him. That will be great
