@Genki_JPN We will support it when it comes out on P2P, whether it's the PC compilation or the emulated version. The remedy to cure Sony is the grey market.
@bobus2@xMBGx $800 gets you a PC with over 40 teraflops and DLSS support. No dedicated console is worth more than $500. Adjusting for inflation, $800 in 2026 is approximately the $400 of the Sega Saturn in 1994. And the Saturn was a failure due to its price.
@IdleSloth84_ If gamers ditched their iPhones and used devices like Android Galaxy or Redmagic, they'd realize that streaming to a TV is as easy as using a Nintendo Switch 2, and these devices offer satisfactory gameplay performance both in the cloud and locally.
@flyshyva The mistake modern Sonic games made was turning them into running games, not exploration games. Sonic today is a lead ball that accelerates at supersonic speed.
@Zuby_Tech The truth that Shawn isn't talking about is that the cost dilemma stems from the fact that Sony no longer manufactures its own hardware and is entirely tied to the costs demanded by AMD.
@lauriewired It won't be the standard because video games don't have a defined standard. The ritual of video gaming revolves around the console, the cartridge, and establishing communion with the games through the screen. If the connection comes from the cloud, the ritual becomes mere access.
@xMBGx The ideal scenario would be for both to adjust their hardware to Nintendo's hybrid philosophy, leaving the race for cutting-edge hardware and offering access and variety. We should have 3 devices with screens competing on price.
@xMBGx No, they're even behind schedule. New consoles exist because of competition, but current consoles want to last longer due to subscriptions. Both will be swallowed by the Switch 2 if they don't get moving.
@Zuby_Tech In reality, they gave away 83 million Xbox 360s; it wasn't a profit-making deal, it was about slowing down the expansion of the PS3. When will they see the truth? Xbox is American, Nintendo and Sony are Japanese. The deal is about not completely draining American money to Asia.
@xMBGx For Sony, hardware volatility is good; it gives them control over market traction. They will force hardware with specialized software so that ports depend on high-end hardware, and they maintain a price advantage. THE USER WILL STILL PREFER $0,7k FOR A VG QUOTE TO $2k FOR A PC.
@GamingTech_HDR NS2 performs better at 30fps when consistent because DLSS reduces flicker and judder; Radeon consoles suffer more because they use linear temporal reconstruction to render lower resolutions and achieve a stable 4k.
@GamingTech_HDR Nobody sees 30fps; every LCD, OLED, etc. screen displays the frame rate shown, whether fixed or variable. The TV doesn't lag the frame rate. The problem with 30fps is that the rasterization isn't as precise as a real image, and we see motion blur and jitter at the edges.
@Genki_JPN The policy is simple: PlayStation = cinema, PC = streaming. People are gradually switching from cinema to streaming, but cinema is still a mainstay, it's good for premieres.
