To the Mufti of Iwo who turned Muslim women in Hijab into a political tool for AMBO in Osun, shame on you.

Let us set the record straight early on. This man is an innovator. He is what we call an Araki. For those who do not know, the Arakiyoon are the political Islamists or movement-based activists.

Their movement started in 1928 in Egypt. Their ideology is rooted in prioritizing political mobilization and chasing seats over the pure teachings of the religion. The reality today is that they will compromise any Islamic value just to secure a spot in the corridors of power.

And mind you, their support for AMBO is ONLY because he is a Muslim. No more. No less.

What has AMBO’s ambition to be governor of Osun got to do with Islam?

To the Mufti in Iwo: This is purely your personal political agenda. The entire idea is political power. They are not doing this to propagate Islam. They only see the religion as a convenient tool to achieve their goals. This is why as a Mufti, you will hardly see him do any Fatwa, or teach the people the true religion. It’s political antics all the time. Shame.

They know Muslims are highly emotional towards anything attached to Islam, and they are quick to manipulate that sincerity for cheap campaign optics.

We must condemn this in totality. We do not hide behind falsehood. If a Muslim does nonsense, we are never shy of calling him out.

The Hijab is a symbol of honor and strict obedience to Allah, not a uniform for political rallies and street campaigns.

What he is quoting and teaching is from the Sharia. That’s the law. I swear by the Almighty who created me, if the sections of the Sharia on capital punishment are borrowed by the government to tackle banditry, kidnapping, and insurgency, in 6 months, it will be a thing of the past. Nobody will dare call himself a bandit, identify with a kidnapper, not to mention kidnapping somebody for ransom. But when we are ready as a nation, we will do the right thing.
