The gist of Pascal Vincent's discussion today about David Jiricek is they'd like the 20-year-old defenseman to play important minutes right now in Cleveland. Also said Jiricek's confidence has been down a bit of late and they want to build that back up.

Jiricek has been clear in interviews he'd rather be in the NHL than the AHL, and Vincent said he doesn't mind that.

"I told him that, the one thing I like about him is his character. He wants to be in the NHL, and I love that. I told him, 'Don't lose that. We want that from you.'

"That part of his game is also a reflection on how he plays on the ice. He's got some swagger about him."
