@TerrorTaleVault I gotcha Terror Tale. Mental health issues can be a huge productivity drain. I hope you can find peace in your pace, and that you can find a way up from here. I support ya.
@SlumberReads@BadVibesYOUTUBE My way has usually just been to add “this video is intended for mature audiences” for the especially dark ones that contain multiple potential triggers, but that’s just me.
I’m sorry I went off on you at the start, I misjudged ya.
@SlumberReads@BadVibesYOUTUBE Oh, I see where you’re coming from. That’s a good point. Maybe they could be given warnings based on their likelihood, rather than their severity? As in the very likely triggers. That’s my thought.
Mentioning specific ones would be helpful for people with a specific trigger,
@SlumberReads Yeah, you right. I don’t know what you’ve gone through personally. I don’t claim to understand what it’s like to be a victim of child abuse, because I’ve never had that happen. That’s where I was coming from on that.
@BadVibesYOUTUBE@SlumberReads I was about to say that it could include the very things you said: Kidnapping, home invasion, murder. Can’t blame me for not thinking about every possible traumatic experience, dude. Not tryna rank them and decide the worst, I’m just saying there should be trigger warnings.
@BadVibesYOUTUBE@SlumberReads I didn’t intend offense, I’m sorry it came across like that. You just seemed dismissive of the whole issue, and I said what I said based on that. I’m just saying not every potentially scary thing should have a trigger warning. Just the things likely to be traumatic to many,
@BadVibesYOUTUBE@SlumberReads Not all triggers are created equal.
The people who deal with the demons of their past from PTSD are not weak. Their suffering is real and can be prevented from literally reexperiencing the worst things that have ever happened to them by just a few words. Not even on every video
@BadVibesYOUTUBE@SlumberReads They could, but it is extremely unlikely that someone is going to have PTSD about an abandoned nuclear facility or a mythical creature. Child abuse, rape, suicide? Very likely. Millions of people.
Besides, is there anything to lose from putting a trigger warning? too much work?
@idioticsynergy@SlumberReads Yeah, agreed synergy. Putting triggers on everything would spoil it, but doing for PTSD triggers can make a big difference. Doesn’t need to be for every video, doesn’t need to be elaborate. Just like epilepsy warnings, a simple timestamp and people can keep watching around it.
@SlumberReads “Coddling” to not give a flashing light warning to any epileptics in the audience, would you? People with PTSD are not weak or wimpy, they’ve gone through crap you can’t imagine. Such a small thing as putting a simple trigger warning could make a lot of difference and save a lot
