Did You Know? In 1935, Officer Harry Fairbanks trained in fingerprint identification and gave TPD its first forensic identification capability. In 2022, TPD used DNA genealogy to identify a suspect in a 26-year-old homicide. The tools have changed. The mission hasn't.

The Tallahassee Police Department is currently investigating a fatal vehicle versus pedestrian accident that occurred in the area of Capital Circle Southeast (CCSE) and Midyette Road at approximately 7:53 a.m.

The Tallahassee Police Department is currently working a vehicle traffic crash with injuries at the intersection of West Tennessee Street and High Road.
Tennessee Street is closed westbound and High Road is closed south of Westwood Lane.

The Tallahassee Police Department is currently investigating a fatal vehicle accident that occurred in the area of Barclay Lane and Godfrey Place at approximately 5:17 p.m. Within minutes of the initial call, multiple units from the Tallahassee Fire Department responded.
Preliminary findings from TPD’s traffic investigation indicate that while traveling south on Barclay Lane near Godfrey Place a large tree fell across the roadway due to the severe weather and landed directly on the front seat area of the vehicle.
