@Zeph_rAO3@white_dari6892@justalexoki@plasmarob how can you come to the conclusion that the red button doesn't directly increase the odds of the gun going off when that is literally the only thing it does do? would you really feel no guilt if you contributed to a red vote that killed some of your close friends and family?
@r_u_thinking@Kapippalist@keyokkud I would also like to add that I do think red would win if the scenario was real even as a blue advocate, in part because people will not understand the consequences for pressing red until the aftermath.
@r_u_thinking@Kapippalist@keyokkud I personally think blue is the better choice, and that people who choose red are in some ways idealistic themselves about not facing consequences, such as close friends/family dying from pressing blue, or facing retribution for their choices if blue wins.
@Freddyfaulds811@Kapippalist@keyokkud how does red winning not kill people? the only way it doesn't kill people is if 100% of people pick it, which is unrealistic, and the same effect can be achieved if over 50% pick blue. I don't blame people for being scared of pressing blue though
@Kapippalist@atmikaw_chii@keyokkud that's not to say I'd want it to happen, but there are certainly a lot of people who advocate for blue that have a surprising lack of empathy and understanding for people who chose red
@Kapippalist@atmikaw_chii@keyokkud I wouldn't say you have a 100% chance of living. if blue wins, the button thing might not kill anyone, but the people who pressed blue might be a little upset at the people who pressed the "maybe kill blue people" button.
@white_dari6892@justalexoki@plasmarob the gun does nothing if you have a little faith in humanity and don't vote to pull the trigger.
there's more than just virtue in that decision, it isn't about survival, it's a trust exercise.
if we cannot trust each other, we do not have a functioning society.
