>the free mint did not end when the public mint opened.
both are running at the same time, from separate buckets.
on the list? mint yours free, gas only.
not on it? public is $5.

we have no right to hold your tamabit.
that is not a promise, it is the design. nothing is deposited, so there is no function that could keep it. a resting pet can still be listed and sold at any second.
the cost of that honesty: selling ends the rest. the clock stops and the next owner starts their own.
we are building /stake.
rest a tamabit and it earns bits. it never leaves your wallet, there is nothing to approve, and resting costs no gas at all: you sign, you do not send.
wake it whenever you like. no lock-up, no cooldown, no penalty.
long enough rests open something sealed.
not built yet, the mechanism is up so you can see it first.

and it is not meant to stay ours alone.
tamabits is the first collection to trade here. the aim is to open the same rails to other collections on arc: same no-escrow rules, same USDC pricing, same protection on stale listings.
being straight with you: that part is the plan, not a shipped feature. the contract we ship holds one collection, fixed at deploy.
we built our own market for tamabits.
to be clear, it does not replace opensea. tamabits is a plain ERC-721 on arc, and once trading opens it lists there like anywhere else. we built ours because we wanted to, not to trap anyone in it.
your pet stays in your wallet. it moves once, straight to the buyer, inside the same transaction that pays you. every sale settles in that one call, so the contract sits at a zero balance. 2.5% fee, capped at 5% in the code.
trading stays locked until the mint is over, on our market and on every other one.

a question we keep getting: what happens to the tamabits nobody mints?
the team is discussing burning them, so the supply becomes exactly
what was minted and nothing more can ever exist.
it is not decided. every one of us has to agree before anything is
final, and we are not there yet.
when it is settled you will hear it here first

why are the pets locked until the mint ends?
because we are not building this for farmers.
a free mint with open transfers is just a faucet. mint, dump,
move on, and the collection is worth nothing before it even
exists. so the lock lives in the contract, not in a promise:
transfers, approvals and listings all revert while a mint is open.
everyone finishes the mint on the same footing. the reveal comes
after, so nobody picks the rare ones out of the pile halfway through.
a tamabit is not a receipt to trade away for candy. it is the key
to what we are building next, and that only works if the people
holding are still here when it lands.
if you came for a quick flip, this was never the mint for you. So sorry π
