🚧 Work zones mean slowing down! 🚧
Speeding fines double in work zones, but the real risk isn’t just a ticket, it’s safety. Last month, many drivers learned the hard way.
Protect workers and yourself by slowing down, staying alert, and driving safely.
Congrats to Julie Medero, our Employee of the Month for June 2026!
After receiving a silent call, Julie's quick thinking and persistence led to a welfare check that helped an elderly woman receive urgent medical care and assisted an elderly male suffering from apparent dementia.
Thank you, Julie, for your compassion, dedication, and commitment to serving our community!
Congrats to Master Police Officer Jason Lindemann and Master Police Officer Justin Brown (not pictured), our Community Policing Officers for June 2026!
Their dedication, persistence, and problem-solving efforts helped address a long-standing community concern in District Two, improving safety and quality of life for residents. Thank you for your outstanding service and commitment to our community!
Teen takeovers will not be tolerated in the City of Tampa. Anyone who violates the law will face criminal charges.
On Friday, a Special Event Zone will be in effect in the downtown area, so expect increased law enforcement presence, increased fines, and vehicles impounded for violations. Similar Special Event Zones may also be established in other locations in the future as needed to protect public safety. In addition, parents and organizers may be held civilly liable.
Teen takeovers are not harmless meetups. They put our community's safety at risk.
If you see something, say something. Call 911 or 813-231-6130.
Congratulations to our newly promoted Deputy Chiefs, Captains, Lieutenants, Sergeants, Corporals, and Detectives!
Today, we recognized their dedication, leadership, and commitment to serving our community. Thank you to their families and loved ones for the unwavering support that makes their success possible.
Congrats to Ofc Martin Ramirez, our June 2026 Ofc of the Month!
As a Field Training Officer in District 2, Ofc Ramirez mentors new officers while remaining highly proactive in the field. In April alone, he safely apprehended two armed suspects during separate high-risk incidents and continues to support investigations through Spanish-language interviews.
Thank you for your outstanding service and dedication to our community!
Friendly reminder: Your door lock only works when it's locked.
Protect your peace of mind: remove valuables, including key fobs, and, most importantly, lock your doors. A few extra seconds can make all the difference.

Today, we gathered to honor Officer James Ronco on the 110th anniversary of his passing.
Officer Ronco tragically lost his life while transporting a female prisoner back to jail after she escaped from the police station.
More than a century later, his courage, sacrifice, and dedication to service will never be forgotten.
