She is currently living with her aunt in Onitsha, but according to her, she was brought from Lagos where her parents live to stay with this woman. According to reports, the girl was seen wandering around after she lost about ₦2,000, which she had made from selling fufu. She had searched everywhere for the money but could not find it. She was crying and refused to go home because, according to her, her auntie would beat her. A kind woman who saw her joined her in searching for the money, but they couldn’t find it. Eventually, the woman gave her the ₦2,000 and also got her something to eat. But that was when they discovered something more painful. The girl said she does not go to school, hardly eats, and had not eaten that day. She also said she has been doing this work every day. She has been living with the woman for about five years, since she was six years old. She said she wants to go back to her parents in Lagos, but she doesn’t know how to contact them.
