It's a question @tferriss asks many of his guests. For @TaniadeJong, the answer is “be curious.” In a world so dominated by AI, she encourages us to keep asking our own questions, of ourselves and not just of the chatbots.

We're making this happen, and we'd love your help.
Seven years ago, Peter and I co-founded @MindMedicineAU because we believed these therapies could change lives, and they are. Through our Patient Support Fund, we're helping eligible Australians access psilocybin- and MDMA-assisted therapies when cost would otherwise stand in the way. None of this is possible without our incredible donor community, thank you for standing with those who are suffering and in need.
Our goal is $2.5 million dollars. Together, we can make psychedelic-assisted therapies accessible to every Australian who needs them, not just those who can afford them.

Have you ever had to knock on every door to make something happen?
Speaking with @tferriss on The Tim Ferriss Show, our Co-Founder and Executive Director @TaniadeJong reflects on the campaign behind Australia's world-first rescheduling decision in 2023. It took persistence and every network built over decades, but as she puts it, “it was all done because of the data and science”. The outcomes from hundreds of trials showed remarkable safety and efficacy.

Could psilocybin influence how our cells age?
A 2025 study in npj Aging, a @Nature Partner Journal, by researchers at @EmoryUniversity and Baylor College of Medicine (@bcmhouston) explored this question in the lab. Human lung and skin cells treated with psilocin, the compound the body produces from psilocybin, kept dividing 57% and 51% longer before reaching senescence, the point where cells stop dividing. In aged mice given a monthly dose of psilocybin over 10 months, 80% survived to the end of the study, compared with 50% of untreated mice.
These are early, preclinical findings in cells and mice, not people, and the researchers are calling for further studies. In Australia, psilocybin can already be prescribed by Authorised Prescribers for treatment-resistant depression, and our Patient Support Fund helps more Australians access these therapies.

Mark Turner spent two decades running toward other people’s emergencies. He almost didn’t survive his own.
As a police negotiator in London, WA and the NT, Mark talked people through the worst days of their lives. Then his own past caught up with him. He couldn’t find an authorised psychiatrist in the Northern Territory. Treatment meant flying to Melbourne. As result of his condition he could not afford the cost and MMA’s Patient Support Fund that closed the gap. Today, his six children have their dad back.
Mark is one of the voices on Mind Medicine Australia’s Lived Experience Panel, helping shape how we support others like him. → https://t.co/vzE8M2RzPJ

Australia is now leading the world, and I couldn't be prouder of what we've built together. 💫
When Peter and I founded @MindMedicineAU, our dream was that no one should keep suffering when safe and effective treatments exist. Today, Australia is the first country in the world to recognise these medicines for clinical use, and more than 400 patients have been treated. When I hear that children "have their parents back," I know why we do this work.
Peter and I have written an article on how Australia got here and what's coming next. Read it here: https://t.co/Z2qFz0ZwcK

“Tania and Peter did something amazing. They beat the odds, and they came from the outside to lead a push that in 2023 made Australia the first country in the world to allow MDMA and psilocybin to be prescribed for psychiatric conditions. This was a huge moment.”
— Tim Ferriss, host of The Tim Ferriss Show
A huge moment, said best by someone who knows what it takes to shift the odds.
In 2023, Australia became the first country in the world to allow MDMA and psilocybin to be prescribed for psychiatric conditions—a world-first breakthrough led by @MindMedicineAU Co-Founders @TaniadeJong AM and Peter Hunt AM.

Do you think psychedelic medicine is being held back by outdated stigma, or by genuine unanswered questions?
The answer may be both of the above.
Psychedelics 2026: Where Do We Really Stand?, a FREE three-day live briefing examining what's actually happening across psychedelic research, policy, regulation, and access.
We'll be sharing Australia's story—how MMA made history through the world-first rescheduling, built the ecosystem for training, medicine supplies, clinical roll-outs and more and what it's taken to bring these therapies safely to patients in clinical environments.
