👓"They wear them to see clearly."
but why does it feel like every single Optometrist is wearing glasses? Are they just gatekeeping the secret to perfect natural vision, or is it a job requirement at this point? Help me solve this mystery. 😂 @ArticulateSam@AishahAyantola
As a Unilorin alum, this moves me deeply. It takes rare leadership to turn the heartbreak of a missed NUGA into structural development and global live-score partnerships. @Tunde_OD, this is the exact type of student-led impact that deserves your backing. 👑♟️
“Dear Tunde, They Called It DELUSION”
Dear Tunde Onakoya, @Tunde_OD
Since becoming Sports Secretary, one word has followed me:
“Delusional.”
Maybe they were right.
Because every major thing we achieved started as an idea people thought was impossible.

LETTER TO GRADUATES, FINALIST GRADUATES AND TO THE CONCERNED ALL
We are taught at an early stage to dream Big
People around you tell you to dream Big and that the Bigger you dream, the more successful you become
They don't forget to tell us not to give up but to give it our all
What lies beyond these gates we’ve called home for four, maybe five years?
A long read🪡
A couple of months ago, I went on a class trip to Sobi Hills. Even before we began, some people looked up at the hill and decided they weren’t going. It was too high.
Some others took off with energy and excitement, determined to reach the top. A few set out grudgingly, already exhausted by the thought of the climb.
I was excited. I thought I had the strength the climb demanded. But halfway through, my legs ached, the sun was scorching, I was running out of water, my phone was overheating, and everything started to feel unbearable. I couldn’t go back, but I didn’t feel strong enough to keep going either.
Meanwhile, some of my course mates were forging ahead, laughing and chattering like the climb was nothing. Maybe they had prepared mentally and physically, maybe they were built for it. I don’t know. But they didn’t stop. We waved at each other for encouragement, but no one offered to carry anyone else. We were all too consumed by the personal burden of getting to the top.
Some people turned back. But some of us couldn’t. We had come too far. I rested a bit, told my partner to go ahead, and promised I’d catch up. Four breaks and a couple of shameless sprawls on the hill later, I made it to the top.
And in that moment, I forgot about the pain. I forgot the heat, the stickiness of my sweat, the ache. It was breathtaking. And I thought, how silly of me to have almost given up.
There were squeals of joy as we all arrived; each in our own time. I remember yelling: “Look Mama, I made it!”😂 because I was just soo proud of myself.
Standing on that peak, overlooking Ilorin, something stirred in me. I didn’t just want to be on top of the city, I wanted to be on top of Nigeria, on top of the entire of the world!
But I digress.
That climb was a metaphor for life.
We set out at different points, chasing dreams that sometimes feel blurry or out of reach. Along the way, it may feel like everyone is racing ahead. No one holds your hand. Just a few check-ins, here and there, from friends we may never see again, and that’s okay.
Some people get stuck watching others climb. Some turn back, some never even start.
But maybe, just maybe the goal isn’t to finish first.
Maybe it’s to move at your own pace, honoring your strengths and weaknesses, and finding meaning in the journey through God’s help.
So, as you’re about to start your own journey, focus on your own progress. Celebrate your small wins. Move from thinking to execution. And have fun now, so even if you never reach the peak, you know you had a damn good time trying.
Your pace is valid, even when it doesn’t make sense. The fear is valid. But so is the growth that follows.
Your dreams have wings now. Fly.💕
While Challenges and hardship wear us down; We do not and must not give up on dreams because we have friends and people who support and root for us.
While we continue on the harduous path to our dreams even after we depart in school
