@GerhardKempICL@quivisexpopulo Based on these statements and the conduct observed to date, one can infer dolus specialis, in whole or in part, the Iranian national group. If implemented, what could such words signify if not the physical demise of the group, at least in part?
More than 14 million proud Iranians have so far registered to sacrifice their lives to defend Iran. I too have been, am, and will remain devoted to giving my life for Iran.
Any form of criticism of such a bullying statement would be an understatement. As Susan Carruthers said, “Every person killed in this war was killed first in the newsroom.”

The longest wait for a head of state warrant in ICC history. My new @opiniojuris piece analyses the pending arrest warrant for Myanmar’s Min Aung Hlaing and the quest for Rohingya justice.

My latest piece for the Bristol Law School Blog analyses the prosecution of crimes of aggression arising from US-Israeli attacks against Iran. These acts are flagrant and manifest violation of international law and demand accountability. ⚖️

The US (domestic) legal & political implications of this aside, this letter underscores the pretty much consensus view that the US attacks on Iran were unlawful under international law: Iran posed no imminent threat to the US.
After much reflection, I have decided to resign from my position as Director of the National Counterterrorism Center, effective today.
I cannot in good conscience support the ongoing war in Iran. Iran posed no imminent threat to our nation, and it is clear that we started this war due to pressure from Israel and its powerful American lobby.
It has been an honor serving under @POTUS and @DNIGabbard and leading the professionals at NCTC.
May God bless America.
I want to share my honest thoughts on Muslims in the UK.
There's a lot of talk at the moment about Islam and grooming gangs and all kinds of stuff.
So this is just my opinion.
I've never in my entire life of meeting hundreds, if not thousands of Muslims, met a Muslim that is not a kind, sweet, honourable person.
There are crazy people in every single group, church, organisation.
Wherever there are people, there's always gonna be good, there's always gonna be bad.
A lot of people who talk about the Quran,
The Quran says this, the Quran says that
and it says, kill people.
I mean, I haven't read the whole book, but I've definitely read chunks, and I've seen verses taken massively out of context.
People go, “The Quran says this!”
And I've actually gone and looked it up, and it's like… no, it doesn't. That's not what it says at all.
I'm not a scholar, I'm Christian.
But I just wanted to say I love Muslims
And I think that the more we can be united, the more people at the top, the better.
I believe the elites, the rich and powerful, will deliberately say things and do things to stir up hate to keep everybody arguing.
When everybody's arguing, when everyone's writing, when there's no peace, we don't think straight, and then we're easy to be brainwashed, controlled and manipulated.
Love to everybody, every religion, every race.
I will be serving as a panelist at the American Bar Association (ABA) International Law Section webinar:

Praise GOD! I am thrilled to share that my review article on history making at international criminal tribunals was published yesterday in the Journal of International Criminal Justice (JICJ) by Oxford University Press. Have a read if you have time: https://t.co/0djsiBopyd
My article written on the ongoing student protests in Bangladesh and condemning the violence has been published on my University's blog.
I am deeply saddened by the loss of lives and the unrest. Nothing justifies taking lives.

JULIAN ASSANGE IS FREE
Julian Assange is free. He left Belmarsh maximum security prison on the morning of 24 June, after having spent 1901 days there. He was granted bail by the High Court in London and was released at Stansted airport during the afternoon, where he boarded a plane and departed the UK.
This is the result of a global campaign that spanned grass-roots organisers, press freedom campaigners, legislators and leaders from across the political spectrum, all the way to the United Nations. This created the space for a long period of negotiations with the US Department of Justice, leading to a deal that has not yet been formally finalised. We will provide more information as soon as possible.
After more than five years in a 2x3 metre cell, isolated 23 hours a day, he will soon reunite with his wife Stella Assange, and their children, who have only known their father from behind bars.
WikiLeaks published groundbreaking stories of government corruption and human rights abuses, holding the powerful accountable for their actions. As editor-in-chief, Julian paid severely for these principles, and for the people's right to know.
As he returns to Australia, we thank all who stood by us, fought for us, and remained utterly committed in the fight for his freedom.
Julian's freedom is our freedom.
