Over Memorial Day weekend, senior military leaders and special guests attended @TAPSorg's 32nd annual grand banquet in Arlington, Va. Tragedy Assistance Program for Survivors provides care and resources to anyone grieving the loss of a service member or veteran.
Erik Slavin, editor in chief of Stars and Stripes, served as master of ceremonies for the event. Speakers included vice chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Marine Gen. Christopher Mahoney, chef @RobertIrvine, actor @robertpatrickT2 and TAPS president Bonnie Carroll.
100+ kids joined GSG at the @TAPSorg Good Grief Camp this week for a night of Fortnite, VR, Minecraft, Smash Bros., and connection.

Speakers included Fleet Master Chief David Isom (SEAC), Major General Antoinette Gant (Commander MDW), and Congressman @DonJBacon (R-NE).

Bonnie Carroll established the Tragedy Assistance Program for Survivors in 1994 as a pivotal support system for loved ones mourning the loss of a servicemember. Carroll told NewsNation's @dianafalzone that Americans during the Iran war may feel “desensitized” to the loss families of slain service members are going through.

“We are heartbroken to share that Jason Collins, our beloved husband, son, brother and uncle, has died after a valiant fight with glioblastoma. Jason changed lives in unexpected ways and was an inspiration to all who knew him and to those who admired him from afar. We are grateful for the outpouring of love and prayers over the past eight months and for the exceptional medical care Jason received from his doctors and nurses. Our family will miss him dearly.”
