The poem our students is reading is by 李白Li Bai (701-762 AD), one of the two greatest poets of the Tang Dynasty. Almost every student in China can recite it.
It epitomizes the Chinese love for home. Being away from home, the poet expressed his deep sense of homesickness.

This is a poem by the famous poet Li Bai being read by some of our Y7 students. It is about the poet living away from his hometown and on this special night of a full moon he was awakened by the moonlight and expressed his homesickness to the moon

Y7 Students at Forge Valley School in Sheffield had a fantastic morning yesterday, taking part in activities with teachers from the Confucius Institute in Sheffield, funded by the SWIRE Mandarin Chinese Language Foundation through Tapton School.
