Stop auditing your own gratitude. It's a stalling tactic. Feeling bad about feeling bad is just a second problem stacked on the first one, and it burns energy you could spend on the actual thing.
1. Leave the house once a day, even when you have nowhere to go. A whole week can disappear without you noticing you never went outside.
2. Put your savings on the same schedule as your rent. Things that happen automatically do not depend on how you feel that month.
3. Let the first draft of an angry message sit overnight. You almost never send the same one in the morning.
The fact that you’re still coming into work, still accompanying your folks, still writing — that’s not you being stuck. That’s you surviving a really brutal stretch.
You’re grieving. Multiple things at once, the exhaustion, the house falling apart, the weight of being the only functional person holding everything together. It all hit at the same time and your system is overwhelmed.
You’re not stuck. You’re just in the middle of it.
when everything feels urgent simultaneously, nothing gets traction.
— that’s what overwhelm actually looks like from the inside.
urgent priorities with no hierarchy is just paralysis with extra steps.
