Mets have added lefty Jefry Yan to the 40-man roster. He’s pitching in Triple-A.
The lefty has been up to 100 mph this year and has 63 strikeouts in 33 1/3 innings.
UPDATE
Mets reliever Dedniel Nunez will start a rehab assignment today in Double-A.
Nunez has been out of action since July 2 of last season, undergoing his second Tommy John surgery.
@NYM_News 2 straight seasons of missing the playoffs 800+ millions down the drain. You have to be a special kind of dumb to mishandle this type of money in a space where most teams are spending a quarter or half of that.
Something still just isn’t adding up to me with the latest Steve Cohen interview. Cohen says it’s “too early to judge” David Stearns because we’re only 2.5 years into his 5-year deal. Yet Cohen also admits he “didn’t expect any of this to happen” and is “extremely worried” about where the Mets are headed. Isn’t this exactly what you’re paying a president of baseball operations $10M a year to prevent?
Alex Cora sat down with Francisco Arzola from Trabuqueando podcast and had this to say about the Mets:
“They’re a solid organization. The owner is a big dog, the POBO is intelligent, and they’ve spent the money. It hasn’t worked out yet, so they’re getting killed for it, but how many other teams are in the exact same situation right now?”

Victor Willis, whose voice helped make the Village People a global phenomenon, has died at 74.
From "YMCA" to "Macho Man" and "In the Navy," the group's music became a lasting part of pop culture.
More recently, "YMCA" was embraced at President Donald Trump's rallies, introducing the classic hit to a new generation of listeners.
The band shared the news of Willis' death Tuesday.
@NYM_News Steve Cohen is more clown than Stearns if he thinks Stearns will deliver a championship team in the next 2 years of the contract. Mets fans should seriously consider if they will purchase season tickets to watch Stearns crappy team.
That's it, I'm done. I've been a Mets fan for 50 fucking years and I survived the Wilpons, but I will not survive Steve Cohen. I refuse to be shit on and stick around. I have enough self respect to walk away from a bad relationship. I blame Steve Cohen and nobody else! David Stearns isn't gonna fire himself. The fact that he's guaranteed 5 years, regardless of his abysmal performance, tells me all I need to know about King Steve and how he regards us peasants. At this point, he's clearly lashing out at the fans because he's an oversensitive prick with way too much money. I'm done, and it's not as hard as I thought it would be.
JUST IN: Steve Cohen tells The Post that David Stearns will remain the #Mets president of baseball operations through the remainder of his 5 year, $50M contract — which runs through 2028.
“We’ll figure out what changes need to be made, but it won’t be David (Stearns).” #Mets
