An all-woman bench itself seems fantastical but even if one was constituted there is every chance it would still bear the hallmarks of a masculinist institution. Why? Because we are working within a constitutional framework that is deeply gendered (and raced and classed).
Have you voted for the Best of Solstice Shorts? https://t.co/60RIHOlqmZ (My poem 'Humidity' was in the 2021 collection Words From The Brink alongside some real bangers!) @SolShorts
@earthandstars Words from the Brink - Solstice Shorts anthology from @ArachnePress from last year is great (possibly biased since one of my poems made it in there :P) https://t.co/QpkfnFpAR6
@LeahJaclyn @NeolithicSheep@am_anatiala Gorgeous! I love him deeply. (But also that is a Splendid Fairywren from Australia, a type of fairywren. We don't have any true wrens here.)
@driftwoodpress Do you have a link for the terms of this position? Is it paid? What are the selection criteria? Is it full time? In person or remote? What kind of experience will be gained?
@shanisborg I believe usually they strike but don't picket. They strike from less urgent/elective patients but maintain a skeleton for emergency/critical care
@Mi1esDeiSum @bluecrow_studio @Tiffani66615923@Eranson1986@lostinhist0ry It was not honest work. They knew the children were dying in torture and suffering - that's why they used orphans or children sold or stolen from poor families. Children find ways to smile and play even when experiencing the most vile abuse - that doesn't mean they are okay
@meghaverma_art Have you read it again recently? Do you think Anne would feel positively about someone trying to build a business by calling other people's art 'fugly', 'crap', 'degenerate', and taking more time to be hateful than they do taking joy in the world? How would Anne feel about Nazis?
@MC_Stephenson@Shelbykinsxo @corprteUnicorn It may or may not have been malicious or negligent. But that's kind of beside the point. If you non-maliciously knock someone over or step on their toe, you still apologize and stop doing it.
@JortsTheCat โค๏ธ When I was working as a union organiser here in Aus, one of the big 'member benefits' I liked to talk about was the ability to be a direct part of big campaigns to help others - like marriage equality or anti-asbestos in South-East Asia. I think people want to do good.
@TriniBabee_@PrestonIgweMD I may be wrong, but I understood the thread to be talking about factors identified that are significantly different or notable in Black young people. I would guess mistreatment based on gender and/or sexuality may have very similar effects across the board?
