Sustainable Timber Tasmania will conduct a Fuel Reduction Burn at Kermandie Plain which will require the Hartz Track to be closed for visitor safety. The burn is weather dependent. The Hartz Track will be closed from 21 to 22 September.
Other tracks in the park will remain open
As we prepare for another busy walking season it is important to register your overnight walks.
For more information on the tracks and to register your walk, visit https://t.co/U9VrIB5Qun and https://t.co/tERluazJb7
The Eastern Arthur Range Traverse, Huon Track and the Western Arthur Range Traverse have reopened.
The tracks were under repair for almost two years following the 2018-19 bushfires.
We worked with contractors to clear and rebuild more than 40 km of tracks damaged by the fires.
Overnight registration for the Eastern Arthur Range Traverse is now open. There is a daily cap of 6 walkers. Walkers who only want to focus on Federation Peak can register for the Farmhouse Creek Track, but must use the Cutting Camp campsite, for a maximum two-night stay.
