Everyone wants these spot ETF’s for whatever short-term gain it can potentially bring, if it even does at this point, but they’re missing the bigger picture of what this entails.

You can wave goodbye to the bull runs you’ve seen. More liquidity will likely lead to more stability. Traditional investors can barely stomach stock market declines, let alone -90%’s we see in crypto.

It’s also creating the transition of ownership of coins in your possession, one of the original selling points of crypto (be your own bank), to ownership in the hands of more centralised sources.

Most of us use centralised exchanges anyway so would rather better protection, but it does officially mark the transition to a government/banker controlled network.

This likely means the exchanges will also have to be in their control for complete oversight of the system.

Pros and cons. Don’t be blinded by your desires of any potential short-term ETF effects to forget about the transition that will follow for crypto. A cost of mainstream adoption.
