@tmcclelland Please get Matt Painter more NIL resources.
Purdue is a small market school in the Big Ten when it comes to NIL spending. It will make it harder for the teams to get old and stay old in this era.
@DubJellison@TomDienhart1 Your foundation may be that but you must also Get Old and Stay Old. Hopefully you don’t develop and then see athletes leaving because you can’t pay Big Ten/SEC market value for an experienced player at their position.
@kraigbowers34@Isaac__Trotter Painter’s comment at Big Ten media days regarding NIL about large market and small market schools in the Big Ten really hits home.
Matt Painter faces a new set of challenges when it comes to roster building in the NIL era.
Purdue basketball’s reported NIL budget might give you a whole new level of respect for Painter:

@Mauty480@SVPAnalytics TKR testified to only getting $1 Million last year. I don’t think that happens if they have $12 Million. I think the numbers in the article do not include outside NIL sources.
@BoilerBurner1 Enzo doesn’t need to score to play a lot with this type of effort but he will need to not be a liability on the free throw line otherwise we will may see “hack an Enzo”. Love the effort though.
@walkeri141 Robust athletic budget and NIL (compared to your scheduled teams) allows for better backups in coaching and player roles….. Accountability is hard without that but can be done - probably won’t mean winning more though.
@walkeri141 If there isn’t enough money available to schedule more than 1 buy game, there probably isn’t enough to have a decent backup defense coordinator on staff. @MikeBobinski said he wasn’t an idiot when they hired Kane - maybe he should play defensive coordinator - Can’t be worse
@TomDienhart1 Kevin Kane was only good the last couple of games because he had recently coached for the opponent schools. He had knowledge about what plays they run and when they run them.
