my cool announcement is that my short story “a body in saw mill creek” is out today in reader beware!! as a non-binary lesbian and horror fan, i think a lot about the homophobia and misogyny in the genre, so i wrote this

any sort of annotation will fuck up the optical character recitation which makes it accessible to screen readers (and makes it searchable with ctrl + F). i either have to digitally edit the image or manually correct the recognized text. massive time suck
as a librarian who also has to digitally remediate PDFs made from annotated books in accordance with assorted disability/accessibility laws i am on my hands and knees begging people not to do this
When I was in grad school, I underlined and made notes in nearly every library book (~500) I ever took out. I remember a cohort mate saying it was rude. I saw it as helpful to the next reader. Imagine a student right now encountering my notes. It’s like phoning a friend for help.
A rabid beaver attacked an 8-year-old boy who was fishing with his family at Lake Henry in Mahwah, New Jersey, this weekend. Police say the boy was bitten in the leg after the animal exited the water and charged him on shore.
i hate y’all why are you going after one of the nicest people alive for tweeting about being fucking hate crimed as if she’s responsible for the behavior of that blue girl? not everybody lives on the internet
hate to be back on here but apparently there’s no better way to contact you directly to say “THIS IS A PICTURE OF MY HOUSE AND THE COMMENTERS ARE CALLING US TERRORISTS OVER A BLACK LIVES MATTER YARD SIGN”
hey @facebook why is it not a TOS violation for a local politician to post a picture of my house with identifiable features like address and license plate and call for his followers to harass us over our political yard signs? asking for me because you auto rejected all my reports
This is NOT what America is about. America is about *opens history book*
uh oh
*Frantically starts flipping though pages*
uh oh. oh no. no no no. uh oh
throwback to the day after the 2016 election where i came to school (one of the only openly gay students at the time) and a guy threatened to [REDACTED] me in the stairwell
I need the Massachusetts Legislature to drop the bullshit and actually be the progressive beacon of hope that people think it is. The Feds aren’t coming to save us so we need to step up now. No more excuses.
all of my 30+ coworkers were talking about how they don’t remember election night 2020 and i was like well i do. because of the destiel super hell. and then i had to explain that to my boss
