I find it interesting that many of the same politicians now speaking out about detention conditions were silent when January 6 defendants were held for months and in some cases years under harsh conditions, often far from their families.

I know families who went more than a year without seeing their loved ones. I know of detainees who spent extended periods in solitary confinement, were moved from facility to facility, and struggled to access basic resources. Their children suffered too.

If we're going to have a conversation about humane treatment, due process, and basic human dignity, then it should apply to everyone, not only when it's politically convenient.

No one should be subjected to inhumane conditions. Not ICE detainees. Not January 6 defendants. Not anyone.

The standard must be equal justice, equal dignity, and equal concern for every family affected by government detention.

But you're a Democrat and this won't matter to you because it doesn't fall in line with your agenda.
