BREAKING: The Ford government’s school board takeovers resulted in a record 1,346 school board complaints to the ombudsman. This is the chaos @fordnation & @PaulCalandra have brought to our classrooms. Parents, teachers, community members, and students are fighting back!
@Cmdr_Hadfield My 8yo son and I listened to you read the audio book over March Break. That combined with the Artemis II launch has resparked his (and my) interest in Space. I also love showing my kinder class your videos from ISS. Thank you for your leadership and inspiration as a Canadian.
In response to Ford's $750 classroom supplies announcement today, @etfopresident said, “For years, educators have spent hundreds of dollars of their own money to ensure students have what they need. If the government is finally acknowledging this reality, it’s long overdue. But let’s be clear. Educators cannot be bought, and our commitment to strong public education is not something this government can purchase with a pre‑bargaining announcement.
The real issue that needs addressing is this government’s ongoing refusal to address the chronic underfunding that forces educators to subsidize classrooms out of their own pockets in the first place." READ MORE https://t.co/cTZqEQbO1U #onpoli #onted
Chii-Miigwech @TayeMaddison for inviting me to see the Ss in your Gr 4 class @TdsbKeele become leaders for FDK Ss, sharing activities to help them understand the 7 Sacred Teaching, based on the book "Mashkiki Road" (making a seed ball was FUN)! @UIEC_Tdsb
Please read this statement from the ONDP Education Critic, @ChandraPasma. The Premier of Ontario needs to get real and address the urgent and vital issue of violence in #onted. #onpoli
@ONT_Dad At a school of 600 students, that money could be put towards an extra teacher and more support staff... in other words, smaller class size and more student supports.
@DaveJudson @ngottliebphoto@globeandmail I agree. Unfortunately, though, that is often the problem: even a gov't that is forward thinking with an env. focus can only look towards the next election. A big picture/future plan requires re-election to accomplish, so easier to focus on short-term goals that can be met.
@darkoarmy@DFisman As a 12 year teacher who is being surplussed, there are LOTS of teachers who would love the opportunity to teach under reasonable and safe conditions. Knowing what my schools real # s are (as opposed to the projected #) there's no reason why we should be surplussing

@sarahlynndias @jdeq@fordnation@Sflecce Omicron started before the break... we all had warnings. But @fordnation did NOTHING. Delay 2 days to delay announcing a 2 week close. Disappear for holidays instead of doing their job, while Ts spent the break planning for numerous possibilities. #VoteFordOut2022
