Sharks, give us royalty until I get my 2X money return? Invested 50L and got back 1Cr. Still hold 5% equity in the company. How can any investor on this planet be dumb enough to even ask for royalty 🤦‍♂️

Forget about adding value, this is adding negative value to the company.

It’s wrong on many levels - Royalty is a concept for IP. Here, royalty for what? You are getting your 2X money back and still holding the same equity. You are literally pulling money out of an early-stage business when it needs it the most.

At that point, you are not an investor. You are a parasite!

PS: if you are a startup founder and agree to this kind of deal, you are not ready to be a founder.
