@Dizzy_DPT_Dad@DrKatBuilds@lathompson71@TheEDDPT Love this! Were nurses and MD’s supportive? And what did that flow look like? In my ED we get a consult, talk to MD, check in w/ RN and then finally see the patient. This seems more efficient and great for throughput time
I first started in the ED as a student in Jan 2021. Today they took down the temporary walls dividing rooms (to make them isolation rooms as needed) and went back to curtains. WOAH. End of an era for sure
You know what PT school doesn’t prepare you for? Lifting up your patient’s gown and seeing a swastika tattooed on their leg. I can’t tell if I feel good or bad about the fact that my student and I carried on as if nothing was there.
@mikestuderPT I talked to her about why she felt that way towards PTs. She felt she wasn’t being listened to and was being judged or deemed “lazy”. So just created a good rapport and listened. She was happy at the end but this is in ED so I won’t get to see her again to see if it stuck.
“I don’t like physical therapy and I don’t like physical therapists” -My patient to me when I walked into the room 😂
Don’t worry, we got her eventually!
