There's this old Chinese parable I think about pretty much every day. So, an old man loses his horse, and all his neighbors are like, "Man, that's terrible luck!" But the old man just says, "Maybe."
A few days later, the horse comes back, and it brings a bunch of wild horses with it. Now everyone's saying, "Wow, you're so lucky!" And the old man, he just says, "Maybe."
Then, a few days after that, the old man's son tries to ride one of these new horses and breaks his leg. So, naturally, everyone's like, "Oh no, what a disaster!" The old man? He still just says, "Maybe."
Fast forward a bit, and the whole country starts drafting people for a war. But because the old man's son has a broken leg, he doesn't have to go fight. Now everyone's saying, "Seriously, you totally lucked out! Everything just worked out for you."
But the old man, he just kept thinking, "Maybe."
This story, called "Sai Weng Shi Ma," can mean different things to different people. For me, what I get from it is that life is just super complicated. It's one thing after another, and you can never really tell if something's good luck or bad luck.
So, if something good happens in your life, try to stay humble and keep your feet on the ground. And on the flip side, if something bad goes down, it could actually turn out to be a good thing you didn't see coming. You really won't know until everything plays out.
God is saying to you today:
You haven't ruined anything. You haven't fallen behind. There is no such thing as missing what was divinely meant for you.
Sometimes the path takes longer than expected because your soul needed time to grow into the version of you who can hold it all. Every lesson, delay, redirection, and pause has been preparing you for alignment not punishment, not failure, but alignment.
Energy is magnetic. When you begin to believe in your worth, speak kindly to yourself, honor your process, and trust the timing, your energy shifts. Suddenly, you no longer chase what was never yours. You attract what has always been.
Breathe deeper today. Remind yourself: "I am not behind. I am becoming." God is never late. And neither are you.
The situation that seems so scary isn’t scary at all if our eyes are open to the full reality. The God who loves to help His people overcome obstacles is always present, even though we often can’t see it with our physical eyes.
