Writing this song felt like a musical departure and coming home at the same time. Creating something for Jessie was a new challenge and also felt like second nature all at once. And being a @toystory kid from the age of 5 til now… is an adventure I plan to be on, to infinity and beyond.
Thank you to the brilliant Andrew Stanton for imagining me for this, all those years ago when you wrote this newest film. Thank you to the incomparable @RandyNewman or the gorgeous sonic tapestry of songs and scores you’ve meticulously woven over the years. You created the Toy Story musical world, and we are lucky to get to live in it.
By we, I mean myself and my pal @jackantonoff. We wrote this with so much adoration for these characters that made us laugh and helped us learn lessons and think outside the backyard all throughout our childhoods. “I Knew It, I Knew You” from Toy Story 5 is out everywhere now. 🤠🐴

After my post on the importance of handwriting, many people reached out to ask me what resource I’d recommend to support explicit, systematic handwriting instruction.
Personally, I’ve chosen to use “Printing Like a Pro” for three reasons:
1. It was developed by a team of expert Occupational Therapists
2. It’s available in both English AND French
3. It’s FREE!
It goes without saying that these are not merely worksheets; the key is in the instruction, including error corrections and immediate feedback. Handing these out as worksheets without explicit instruction may reinforce poor printing habits!!

“Academic accommodations for anxiety convey two harmful messages. First, they imply that the feared situation is truly dangerous. Public speaking, testing, or lunch with classmates are too risky for a student. Second, they suggest that the student can’t withstand the distress. Those messages increase anxiety.”
What a fantastic article!! Eliminating things that cause anxiety don’t teach students how to cope with difficult situations and can heighten anxiety in the long term!! Avoidance is a TEMPORARY solution but can be harmful in the long run!
This article is well worth the read: https://t.co/S7iqcQBpxK @BostonGlobe@TeachersCollege

It's a great day to run copies of my @thinkSRSD TIDE-L graphic organizer 🛸
Last year, RACES was mandatory, but language is powerful and imho, TIDE-L is much better for scaffolding the writing thought process esp for launching into multi paragraphs.

Looking for ways to help prevent the summer slide?? Me, too! 🛝☀️
Every year before summer holidays, I send my “Sound Skills Choice Board” home with students so they can practice essential skills (such as blending sounds, segmenting words into sounds, and identifying individual sounds in words) with their parents/caregivers.
These foundational literacy skills are also cross linguistic so #MLL and French as a Second learners will benefit from them, too!! #phonemicawareness
I want to help teachers work smarter, not harder.
Too many teachers are spinning their wheels and feeling like they’re not making progress with their students. Or, sometimes, like me, I feel like we’re moving backwards…
That’s why I rely on well-respected researchers like @brian_poncy and @rastokke to tell me what the research says AND which resources to use to support my instruction. I don’t have time for new fads in education and my students don’t either.
Check out these excellent math resources from @brian_poncy on the Chalk and Talk website! Better yet, listen to his conversation with Anna here: https://t.co/33bq9kbBgG. #ListenAndLearn
As a literacy teacher, I know the importance of timed tasks to measure students’ rate and accuracy of word reading. Automaticity is essential for reading comprehension, a more complex cognitive task.
As math teachers, we also need to know how to measure students’ rate and accuracy of basic math facts! Automaticity of basic math facts frees up working memory to reduce the cognitive load required for more complex math problems!
Here is a fantastic tool created by @brian_poncy that was shared in episode 36 of Chalk and Talk with Dr. Anna Stokke: https://t.co/U9ZrcuwB1O (check out her resource page for the complete set!!)
