Why SOME schools get 100% pass rates and high Bachelors passes:
- They coerce parents to deregister their kids from the school in grade 10/11 when they can see that the kids may not do well with their matric results.
- They sign up some of their kids with other schools in case they fail. Kids still attend the same school, though.
- They give bursaries to top students from other schools, who end up boosting their matric results.
- They make kids attend compulsory after-school extra classes, weekend classes & holiday classes.
- They focus on past papers more than an understanding of the content.
- They coerce kids to pick subjects that are aligned to a Bachelor's pass.
- They lure top teachers from other schools with pay incentives, to invest in their students - which normally explains higher schoolfees.
- Parents can afford lots of extra tutors and extra classes.
Half of these pointers are kept hush-hush, because they are frowned upon.
The other half are really dope & should be copied by more schools, especially more contact time with the material & a focus on past papers.
