A power hour of Learning this morning w/ @natwexler . Loved this question starter brought into the webinar chat “so Ss reading levels are different based on background knowledge.” Thank you @AmericanReading for providing quality PD!
I’ve been advised not to post about the murder of Ahmaud Arbery until I calm down a bit. But that’s part of the problem, isn’t it? We calm down and go on about our business. This must end. Our black brothers and sisters need white advocates to bring this to an end. Count me in!
We know your Ss have been working hard towards their Power Goals. The momentum doesn't have to stop!
You and your Ss can find IRLA Toolkits and books in the Bookshelf App!
Today I was reminded of a quote by Coach Lou Holtz, "Life is 10% what happens to you and 90% how you respond to it." Educators did not ask for this challenge, but they have certainly risen to meet it. I have never been more proud to be in this profession. #fcsstrong
We're bug-eyed over this awesome video for kinders introducing them to the Entomology unit.
Great work, @LemayAmy and Mrs. Brock for fun, interactive ideas to virtually get students engaged with the unit.
A school Superintendent said something profound in his address cancelling school for the next 3 weeks. “In the end, it will be impossible to know if we overreacted or did too much, but it will be QUITE apparent if we under reacted or did too little.”
Hear those words my friends.
Every teacher was a student once. Students of color are not likely to return to school to become teachers of color if they did not have a positive experience in school the first time around. The recruitment pipeline starts in math class not at the career fair. #octmchat
