@Jar44berry@johntomsett@MaryMyatt In terms of English I think there is a big gap.
This is my opinion based on teaching year 6 and leading year 7/8 English
@Jar44berry@johntomsett@MaryMyatt Transition work needed. The gap between 6/7 is a big one. Different skills set. Year 6 teachers are unfamiliar with curriculum in yr 7 and likewise for yr 7 teachers!
Set a treadmill at 21kph ( max most will go to) and try to run for 30 seconds on it.
That's what he did for 1 hour, 59 minutes and 30 seconds.
The peak of human physical achievement. Insane, absolutely insane.
@_Harriet90@SamStrickers181 Yes similar to this…evidence to support more physical activity during the school day - particularly among secondary age girls
@BigBadBraz Back the team. Get behind them when it matters. time later to ask what went wrong & make changes. negative vibes in the moment don’t help anyone perform better.
@adamboxer1 Maybe we should be using experienced, qualified coaches to deliver this. ‘Feedback’ can be perceived differently depending on who is ‘giving’ it. A better model would be to start with ‘quick wins’ so that more staff are onboard and positive…build up to wider/complex issues
I'm running a rare (cos I never have time any more) Whole Class Reading In KS2 Zoom on Sunday morning at 10am next week, if anyone fancies it. I know it's short notice. Retweets appreciated if anyone's still here.
