Nobody talks about the Spanish teacher who is the PE teacher today. The math teacher is covering the art room. The counselor is teaching English. All of it is happening because there is nobody else. This happens every single day in schools across this country.

I just had gallbladder surgery last Tuesday. The hospital only put me out til today, meaning I have to go back to work tmrw. HOW do I tell 400 kindergarteners I work with to not give me hugs for a few weeks? It’s gonna be hard lol

This is the first time I’m dealing with this in 14 yrs of teaching. One of my student’s dads was found dragged and dead under a truck. It’s super public. He’s 5🥺it’s heartbreaking. How do I comfort him, as I want school to be the place that is safe?

Schools must demand more from kids—with FULL parent support.

✅ Must show up every day unless sick, etc

✅ Basic Manners & Respect

✅ Clean up after themselves in the cafeteria

✅ And provide actual consequences for those that don’t.

AND IF the student continues their misbehaviors, make virtual schooling the only option for them.

RAISING EXPECTATIONS…it’s how we build capable, respectful adults.
