Which is EXACTLY what #onted said the second that this was announced.
We went on strike to reduce class sizes and eliminate these courses.
We ended up "agreeing" with a reduction in the proposed increase in class size and total courses taken online WITH an opt out option
In Minister Calandra’s December letter to parents, “Our students deserve better results and stronger outcomes, especially in reading, writing and math.” and “Our responsibility is to do everything possible to boost student achievement.”
Today, he canceled TCDSB reading programs!
Curious how many high schools in #PDSB were assigned e-learning sections by the Ministry... Care to share if yours was?
This'll give students a FALSE opportunity to opt-out, & goes against @OSSTFD19's Collective Agreement by forcing teachers into jobs they didn't apply for.

@lilwaynekennedy@JBradshaw01 We are upset with those teachers and are glad they've been fired, but that doesn't mean we all need to be reprimanded. It's similar to keeping the whole class in for recess because one or two students do something inappropriate. We don't practice collective punishment.
Don't let @PaulCalandra fool you - this year's education budget does not keep up with rising inflation and is effectively yet another #onted budget cut.
🚨 What I don’t understand is why Doug Ford and Paul Calandra are already threatening teachers and students across Ontario over graduation speeches that haven’t even happened yet.
They’re warning valedictorians and teachers: watch what you say, or we’ll invoke the Education Act.
Students can’t use their voices at their own graduation?
Meanwhile, police officers are under investigation and Ford’s entire caucus is silent. Crickets.
Whose side is he on?
Clearly not the kids. Clearly not education.
This is not leadership it’s control.
Share if you’re done with politicians muzzling our students.
We stand in #solidarity with the 331 PDSB teachers who have been declared Surplus to Region and laid off for the next school year, and the 52 Educational Assistants whose contracts are being impacted as a result of a mid-year EA reorganization. @ETFOPeel@ETFOeducators#OnEd
PSA for @PaulCalandra:
Teachers have professionalism which is why your diabolical speech wasn’t published as you seem to want. Pieces of it have been shared, and teachers have been responding to it and your letter with anger and disbelief. YOU are not respected.
Let me tell you something @PaulCalandra When my daughter graduated in 2024 I had to sit through speeches from both @annarobertsmp AND @Sflecce talking about what a wonderful job their parties are doing for this province. Why is their bullshit propaganda OK for attendees?
Across the province this Saturday, March 28 there are ‘Fight Ford’ protests planned in dozens of Ontario communities. One organizer said, rallies are happening because residents are “tired of his policies that ignore the input of experts and thousands of diverse citizens.” Locations are below. #onpoli https://t.co/yty3ALBXP2 via @InsideHalton
